Yes....... their posts show up as a single line stating that they are on your "ignore" list...... After all, that is the point... no sense getting your blood to a boil for nothing....... but you do get the advantage of no messages or PM's from them too.

Pick somebody and put them on your list and see if they "disappear".... You can always put them back by removing them from the ingore list..........if you really, really want to..

Someone PM's me and mentioned that my 'FUC*ING Subs' look nice.

What kind of language is that, especially for an introductory PM from someone I have never met or PM'd before ???

This is one funny thread!!

The only PMs I ever get are from newbies too shy to ask questions on TRF.....so they catch me and I try and be as patient as I can with them!!

No creepy PMs ever head my way - I guess they would just bounce off anyway!!

I understand. When you shorten the name it should read SUBs. All caps.

If you think that they are creepy Jen, I would be inclined to forward these PMs to the Mods for their perusal, couple of clicks of their mouse and the PMs and their authors would be history.

On a serious note, if an inappropriate PM is received it should be promptly reported to a moderator or me. There is no place for that kind of conduct on this forum.

By not reporting the matter you may be further encouraging that kind of activity.

I don't understand, why would someone send creepy PM's? So immature.... Just hide in the bushes outside Jen's window with binoculars like the rest of us!!!

Haven't had a creepy PM's yet, maybe I haven't been around long enough

Most of my PM's are the gang on the watchout crew, a few here and there from new members that need advice that are a little timid to pop a post for all to see always pleased to help!

I can't imagine anyone on here posting strange PM's, all a damn good bunch

lol@creepy PM's....

Didn't know it happens in a watch forum. Then again when you have a picture of yourself in your avatar, things can happen.

Hey Bruno! I'll be glad to send you one telling you that it's probably wise to avoid getting any more, and asking you how the weather is around the Cape Cod area!

Today is sunny and 68. If I get any more infraction point I'll probably get banned and I don't want that.

Exactly - and neither do we. The weather sounds absolutely perfect, Bruno! Consider the previous exchange a public PM in this thread!

How many points equals ban?

Well, here are some rules regarding the automatic board system when infraction points are handed out. Keep in mind that the board's software cannot "ban" a user - that becomes the call of the moderators:

When a member reaches 10 current infraction points i.e. points, none of which have expired, in that instance the forum software will automatically make that member unable to do anything on the forum except for viewing posts (as any guest may do).

This restriction on the member will continue until such number of active points that have not expired goes below 10.
Upon the expiration of all or some of the active points and the number of active points falling below 10 the members rights and entitlements to post, PM etc. will automatically be restored by the forum software.

For example:

Say member X has 5 points from previous conduct and the points (which were given say 4 months ago) expire in 2 months.

Today member X is issued with a new infraction for insulting another member and given say 6 points which will expire in 6 months.

As a result member X now has today 11 points and the forum software automatically suspends all his rights and entitlements (except his right to log in and view posts).

I would suggest that users should stay away from 10 or more current, unexpired points!
