I’m glad to see you’re happy with the decision you made Dan.
There ain’t nothing like regret, to remind you’re alive. (Credit to SC) I’m glad this isn’t one of those scenarios |

Good job Dan. Should be the whole point of watches. Buy and wear what you enjoy.

Good moves in selling the Rolex! Super bad move to holding on tudors and buying a new tudor though

Or maybe just having a change. Not everyone needs to “panic” sell.

I agree it is a smart move personally I don't think this is going to stay this way I think with the high interest rates and a possibility of rates staying high for much longer we could see a collapse in the Rolex market in the next year or two who knows like I mentioned earlier we may see 25% off at AD's again like the 90s

Nice timing Dan. You nailed it. Have any stock tips for us that are often late to the game?
I also sold a few watches during the covid money boom. I didn’t buy them to sell, but when values pop like that… let’s just say the 9k watch wasn’t worth 25k to me, so away it went. The covid crazy watch bubble was a huge turn off for me personally, no regrets selling. Recently picked up my first Tudor. loving it more each day.

Congratulations! Tempted to make a similar move myself.
Even at current MSRP, I no longer see much value proposition in Rolex’s offerings. The black bay 58 or 54, has gotten my attention lately. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I just compared some prices on 16570, 14060 and 114060 and if you count the inflation, the prices is actually lower now, compared to what they sold for in 2015. For example: There's a nice 14060, full-set, that's has remained unsold for a long time, the price is 8000 USD (sold on a well known forum). The service price has spiked as well and I would argue that a doubled service price has a major impact on the selling price now when Rolex seem to decrease in value. This wasn't really an issue earlier when the prices just went higher and higher. |
