Since last three years the watch thing started to grow over me and when I got into US 1 yr ago I simply became obsessed with watches
From the vry first day the watches started to grow over me I craved for a Rolex and a Rolex Daytona was like a dream watch for me so I spared money and in the mean time had Breitlings and omegas to satiate my appetite and finally got Daytona to have my dream come true.
Its really a gr8 feeling when you achieve what you have always planned for.
And I'm fortunate by god's grace to experience the feeling

I wear a Rolex because of several reasons. It had always been a tradition in our family. My Dad and Mom's side of the family wore Rolex watches. When we all graduated from university my Dad gave all of us Rolex watches as a graduation gift. I plan to do the same thing with my kids.

When I took up scuba diving I bought another Rolex (Sub), when I signed up with a Fortune 500 company, part of the bonus they gave me, I spent it on a Rolex, when I took flying lessons, I bought a GMT Master. I wear Rolex watches because they symbolize what's best in life, and I've always wanted the best. I wear a Rolex because I've been blessed to be able to afford one or three, and that's also a good thing.

I bought my Rolex watches because I liked them. I don't talk about them unless I am on this forum. Nobody cares what watch you wear. Most people don't notice watches. I like the current style of the Sub, SD, and the DJ. I will like them long after Rolex has changed them as they will in the future my guess is they will make them bigger and with more bling traits I do not care for. Most current Rolex watches are simple and classic in design in my view.

Guys, you should see the chicks I pull in this hot little roadster, (I always buy the best) just cant keep them out of it! not sure why. Mother says it's cause of my rugged good looks but I know better, their an educated lot up here in the tropics, and I know it's my blue dial Tudor that gets them all so excited, what else could it be.

Becasue of the adventurer history of Rolex

I grew up reading the National Geographic and the Rolex ads were unique for the time and inspiring. I always wanted to get a Rolex based on that marketing, becasue they profiled real-life adventurers who did the sorts of things I would like to do, and their unique and full-of-character Rolexes were there with them.........

See the ads that someone found, under this post........

To me, my BMW and my Rolex (in the future) are symbolic of self-mastery and my ability to exert myself in the world.

You can also do that by hiring a limo and wear a Folex. After the good time you can tip her with the Folex. Save yourself a bundle.

By far the best answer, even better than mine . I always appreciate a guy who doesn't forget his roots.

You definitely deserve your Rolex and AMG.

As far back as I can remember, I always wanted a Rolex but could never afford one until I retired. I wear my Rolex as it reminds me of the history of the brand:

1926 Oyster Case (waterproof watch)
1931 Rotor (self winding)
1945 Datejust
1953 Submariner (100m)
1953 Explorer
1955 GMT Master
1956 Oyster Day/Date (26 languages)
1959 Daytona - 1st sporting event
1967 Sea Dweller 610M/2000ft
1971 Explorer II
1978 Sea Dweller to 1200m/4000ft

There is probably much more of these achivements I have not mentioned here. Rolex also have been very charitable during WW2 as well.

Finally my father wore a Rolex for many years. I was not able to inherit it as it was stolen from his estate (he died in Zimbabwe) I intend to pass mine down the bloodline.

I see it, I like it, I buy it. It's all about me - who cares what the women or strangers think?

For any purchase, I have one deciding factor - am I going to still be using this thing in a few years' time, or is it going to end up gathering dust and taking up precious storage space? In the case of my Rollies, I know I'm going to be using them on a regular basis because easily they go with my wardrobe (well, the DateJust to a lesser extent than my sports models). It doesn't get any simpler than that.

And Frans, whatever would I ever want to tell the time for?

I wear a Rolex for many of the same reasons why others have posted, but the one reason that I didn't see posted is this:

Instead of the luxry item bringing me happiness and feelings that I am a success.

I like to bring something to the luxery item. These are like icing on a good cake.

Me, my goals, my accomplishments, my hard lessons learned, all being the cake.

My Date Submariner was bought for me for my 13th Birthday 20 years ago. I have worn it everyday since except for the last few years. I started to lose time so it has gone in for servicing. I am using another watch at the moment and it feels strange as I liked the weight and size of the Submariner.

It is the best and my favourite thing I own. I don't wear it because it is a Rolex but because it looks wonderful. No one else seems to notice it is Rolex anyway.

The reaons I bought were:

1)Durability
2)Reliability
3)History
4)In House Movement
5)Personal Family History

I bought my SD after flooding three different Tag Heuers while diving. I wanted a watch that I knew I could count on not failing underwater.

When I decided to buy my first "real" watch there was no question that I would buy Rolex. I grew up with them. Dad wore a brown dialed President and Mom a black dialed Lady's President. My grandparents wore them too. I even remember seeing a few Subs while hanging around dive operations as a kid.

Combine the history of the watch, an in-house movement and bullet proof quality and craftsmanship...there were no other options.

I am a watch fanatic. I always have been and recently I've been able to buy a couple of my favorite watches. TT Sub and GMT II SS. This is just the beginning of my collection. I'm not rich, I just save up the money until I can buy. I love the way the feel and look on my wrist.

I bought a Rolex because it was on sale for $179.99 in the clearance area of my local drug store. The sale, oddly enough, was held in the trunk of some guys car
