I'm still having trouble figuring out what people mean by above and below -I'm not entirely sure we're all using those words the same. I'm just going to start using your terminology!

I was wondering about this too. Some say it’s more correct as classic advertisements show watches worn this way (maybe because it’s just more prominent off the cuff). I think this is called above the wrist bone (could be wrong, depends which way you view it). Let’s call it towards the hand (removes the ambiguity).

I briefly tried it but to me it looks plain wrong. I also have a constant nagging sensation that if I break a fall with my hand either the bracelet will snap or the crown will sprain the top of the my hand pretty badly (did this with an Omega PoC once and it hurt like hell for a week or two) Doesn’t feel or look right to me. YMMV.

My wrist goes from 7.25” to well over 8” pretty quickly.

Also my wrist bone protrudes upward on both arms (annoying).

Here’s The typical position of my SD43:

I agree. The problem the OP has is his watch

wikiHow suggests measuring straps and bracelets.
“Measure your wrist circumference just above the bone. Feel your wrist to locate the knobby bones on either side of your arm and place your string on the side just above it. Wrap the string around your wrist until it’s snug and mark where it overlaps the end. Straighten out the string and hold it against a ruler to find your measurement. Write the measurement down so you don’t forget.”

This helps you check it without being rude and wrist rolling.

Snug Above the wristbone, is perfectly centered the clasp and my hand is free to move.

I have tried to use it loose but the watch always bothers me when it goes down to the wrist and prevents me from moving it freely.

I almost always wear my watch just behind the wrist bone like you and keep it nice and tight.

However, sometimes I do mix it up a bit and wear it loose and at very top of my wrist. Usually a couple times a month.
