Such a great story Michael.... I waited 30+yrs to get my Sub....I first saw it in 1986 when my brother's friend got it for his high school graduation, I got my brand new one a little over a month ago and there hasn't been a day when it wasn't on my wrist or make smile when I look at it....I couldn't agree with you more.....iconic!

Thank you for a very interesting read, and for your service. Of course, I wish you would have bought one earlier!
The watch looks great, and you've convinced me to look for the same. |

LarsFS, you’ve been here for a long time. I saw in your recent thread that you’ve just begun in actually acquiring Rolex watches. I’m pleased you like mine. If you decide to go five digit, it’s a great choice. Though I love all the Rolex Submariners, the five digits “tick all the boxes” for me, possessing the best of the old and the new! Thanks again! Thanks for the enjoyable read! I’ve always appreciated the 5-digit submariners. Although it wasn’t my first Rolex, my 16610 is one of my favorites. I appreciate mine for many of the same reasons you do yours. It’s one of the most iconic watches with a mix between the classic look and modern wearability. Good choice!

Great story, thanks for sharing!
My first Rolex was a 14060M as well. I wouldn't mind going back to it, quite frankly.

As many have said, love this story and would read each and every post about buying a first watch. I bought my son a sub for his HS graduation last year and posts like this reinforce that decision.

What a fantastic story and a thoroughly enjoyable read. I have two 6 digit Subs but I must admit there is something iconically special about the shape of yours. Please do keep posting pics.

Thank you, Radix!!!
Today is Monday of week four that my Submariner has been at the RSC. Checking my emails every five minutes, Ha, ha! Fortunately, I won’t have to wait for shipping, as I’m picking it up myself. Needless to say, I’m quite eager.... :) Michael |

Thanks for asking! I haven’t received the call yet. I dropped it on July 22nd, so today is actually the end of three weeks total. This Friday will be four weeks total, so I’m kind of hoping it will be any day now.
Sorry if I made it sound like the four weeks were already up! Michael |

Hello all,
I’m very pleased to report that my Rolex Submariner is once again on my wrist! Words fall short on how happy I am! The Beverly Hills RSC did a fantastic job. Though eight years old, this was it’s first service and since it still looks “like new” I asked them not to polish it and they agreed it wasn’t necessary. Thank you for looking. I’ll continue to post pics in this thread as I get them. God bless you, Michael |
