I vote for this scenario. Or just casually point out the oxidation or poor finish on his watch when you happen to get close enough to see it on his wrist. ;)

His immediate reaction will tell you whether or not it's a fake.

I personally have taken off watches for "friends" only for them to question its value and say their Hamilton watch is a better value... It takes all the self-control that I have to not reply "It doesn't take a lot of money to buy cheap stuff.". ;)

<edit> Just finished the rest of this thread - HAHAHAHAA, FAAAAAAAAKER... You should go grab a stack of paper from the printer and walk by his desk saying "Check out how thick my resume is!!" hahahaa! what a loser. </edit>

mfer.

Well you seen the real face of the chap.

Next time he comes sticky beaking into your watch, tell him NO !.

By allowing him to grab your watch and fiddle with it he has become over confident.

Watch the second hand closely on his polar Exp. It may not sweep. There are quite a few fakes floating around.

Cheers

After reading most of these posts, I have come to the conclusion that he wants to be like you. He envies you. He wants to bring you down to his level. You should not care if his watch is fake. You should be flattered by his actions. He has paid you the ultimate compliment. If you wear a distinguished watch, then you should always act distinguish when wearing it. If someone ask to see your wedding ring would you take it off? If someone ask my wife to see her wedding ring, she holds out her hand, she never taks it off. Never take your watch off for just anyone. Only very close people in your life. I do not own a Rolex. I'm on here to learn all I can about this masterpiece of work. I hope to but this summer. I envie all of you!

Call me a nut, but I have refused to take mine off before. I simply don't trust others with it.

I don't demand that others take their watches off and let me try them on though - I guess that's the big difference in this case. You always obliged him and now he won't return the favor.

I never take of my watch for anyone, except possibly my children and wife. And I would not ask anyone else to hand over their watch either. To me, it's impolite. But, that's just me.

When a watch lover asks to see my watch, I always oblige; I just add "treat it like it's made of thin glass, please?" with a smile. People then know to be ginger with my babies :)

As for this toolbox who wears reps and tries to pass them off as real...

You should buy a rep that matches your watch, fiddle with it so it will easily fall apart, and then when he asks to wear it, you hand it over and breaks in his hands!

OMG I AM MEAN.

But how funny would that be?

I kid, of course, but pay no mind to losers... otherwise you can never win!

Enjoy your watches.

If he will not take it off and let you "examine" it, IT IS A FAKE!!!

Tell him so and remove him from any "friendships"!

I just do not have time for people like this!

Even though I don't have a problem taking off my watch and showing it to people, I will be pretty pissed if that happened to me. That is just so lame, regardless if it is fake or not.

Heres one point! The one reason he may have wanted to look see at your watch was this. He already had the fake at home, and he wanted to compair it to your real one, to see if he could pull off wearing a fake at the office. My thoughts. Ron

There is a guy that I work with that is always talking about how great his watches are and that nothing beats them. Whenever I bring up Rolex he always has nothing but negativities to say about them............ The watches he is cheering about are Citizens............. Needless to say he has no appreciation for true craftsmanship.

Perfect advice. It is always best to take the "high road" and show class and character. These are things that cannot be bought.

Your the better man with the better watch. Now at least you know who you are dealing with. I wouldn't empower this individual by getting angry- he's just not worth it in more ways than one.
