Don’t pay a silly price, the tide is definitely changing.

Time vs. Money

It just depends on your “time value of money.” Technically, it is not worth Bill Gates’ time it takes for him to pick up a $20 bill lying on the ground.

If you answer NO to at least one of these criteria, then don’t buy:
1. Do you really like it?
2. Can you afford to spend a premium?
3. Will you not care at all if the price tanks?

I’m very close to buying this one from a trusted seller. Less bull shit and drama.

Have you tried on a VC overseas? How does it fit compared to a sub. I don’t like to go over 40mm. Was wondering how it feels bigger or smaller than 41mm.

Pass at these current grey prices. I’d rather save up a few grand more and go PM

VC overseas is a true 41 feels as weighty as a Sub but better distributed. Has great proportions like a 6 digit Gmtll but wears more like a DJ41on steroids yet not bulky like a Djll. Integrated lugs and case work very well.
The VC really is perfecto

Yes to all 3. But. I like other stuff for 1 category. Would be opportunity cost purchase.

I’ve been trusting your opinion for awhile...valuable input.

If I went VC it would be white. Do they have that? I have two holes in collection in my mind. Pepsi and white.

Just got mine 3 days ago.

Talked to the Chicago VC AD, he said the brown is done and the white/silver is being discontinued if not already.

Answered already - I also like white SS Sky D but that’s more recent. Need Pepsi and white to round out collection. Pepsi is obvious. Want the new one. White more difficult (another thread).

The price will come crashing down and you'll lose thousands the moment you try to flip it! Just repeat that to yourself every time the thought crosses your mind lol.

In all seriousness, the price premiums you pay for it you might as well buy an undesirable watch from an AD with the intention of getting the coveted must have watch of the moment.

Then when it goes out of favour you can flip it before the market turns sour and move on to the next latest and greatest, rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

Or you can just wake up and realise it's just a piece of metal that's mass produced and even after you do eventually get it, your life will still be the same as before.

Sorry buddy, but getting one of these things on your wrist doesn't open doors for you to have a more happier life.

Looking at WatchFinder they recently dropped the BLNR by £3k. I know their prices are over inflated, but still it shows times of change.

I personally can't talk about waiting, I recently bought a coke, but I know there is no more coming so its not like I can wait and get it much cheaper.

It’s a watch, it’s a Rolex. Even though I adore Rolex, it’s not top tier and the market is out of its mind right now. There is much better buys at the moment for half the price. Just because you have money does not mean it’s a wise decision. Paying premium isn’t really what successful people do. Have you looked at the Tudor GMT Pepsi, half the price in house movement, Rolex quality at a reduced price. Asthitcially IMO looks better?

Maybe for Batgirl, but Batman they still have for £15K for 2018 models, £16K for new. Hulk is the same price, BLRO too, looks high as ever still.

That’s a fantastic watch, but in a different league entirely. The Pepsi feels like a blunt toy compared to the overseas (I have both, wear the Overseas as a daily).

If you have the money, in cash, and you want it, just buy it. The likelihood of getting one at MSRP is not great.

Popular steel Rolex watches tend to hold value. Just be sure to buy from a trusted Grey dealer, even if it is a bit more expensive than a less trusted source. If the market holds, you'll still be able to sell it for a good chipmunk of change if you get tired of it.

Don't worry about price depreciation or appreciation, just enjoy the watch. In 5 years you won't even remember what you paid but you'll have enjoyed the watch for that 5 years.

Yup, you are like most folks, we do not have unlimited funds. If we did we could but grey all day at double retail and it would not matter much. If I were a billionaire would I worry about a 6K premium? Likely not.

But you hit on the very key question to answer. You have the money, but is the premium on the watch where you want to spend it? Is it worth it to you? Are there other things you would rather spend the money on (opportunity costs)?

Once you can find that out, then you have your answer. As I tell my daughter, always listen to what others have to say, but in the end you need to make the decision what is right for you. No regrets one way or the other.

When I tried on the VC Overseas it disappointingly wore a decent amount larger than the Sub C if on bracelet. On Rubber it wore the smallest.

I'd personally wait. I'd feel stupid/ripped off paying that kind of premium when I know others are getting it for a lot less, and I HAVE the money to pay the premium. Of course if the premium is no/not a significant object to you, and that's for only YOU to decide, then go for it.
