Depends on age imo.
I used to think the (1)16610 was the perfect Sub. Today I am close to 60 and am convinced the 126613LB is 'the one'. Full gold is too much and delicate. SS is a bit flat. The combination of SS and gold, finished of by the blue dial and bezel, scream "Rolex". Very elegant and sporty at the same time. I have one order since 3 weeks, can't wait. photo source : https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-bl...ubmariner.html

Vintage would be the 5513 maxi matte dial
Neo-vintage I think the 14060M, since it was the end of an era Modern for me personally would be the 126610LV Mk2 Kermit |

My favorite is one they don’t make. White gold (or platinum), blue sunburst dial with a black bezel. One can only wish.

What is the best Submariner out there?
Quote:
Had one, sold it, I thought I would love it. I remember being blown away when it was released and I really wanted to, but just couldn’t can’t explain it really. My view now is a sub should be steel. Controversial and a very personal opinion, but it’s a tool watch. I love the original Kermit and the new “MK2” Starbucks I guess now the “cermit” I’ve had 3, I’m currently subless which needs to change.

I'm really enjoying the new 126s. Both in steel and gold.

What is the best Submariner out there?
Don’t know if it is the best but I love mine.
It is a 168000 from 1988. I bought it in 1991 for the equivalent today of 2700 $… Old good time I guess. It has been my daily for a long time and I was doing everything with it: skiing, windsurfing. The bracelet is getting a bit old now but it is part of the charm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
