New to the club

Hello Gents, Long time Lurker, New poster.

I had always envisioned myself as the owner of a nice black Sub date (A wishlist from my childhood actually) but having had a 43mm Carrera on my wrist for the last 3 years I finally tried one on and found it was too small for what I was used to. So put my name down on the list late last year and here we are.

Picked this one up from the local AD last weekend, the soon to be Wife bought it for an early wedding present... Feeling a bit lucky

Congratulations
You're a lucky man.
Its a nice MK III dial.

I haven't been able to wear my D-blue yet.
My D-blue is my wedding present from my fiancé and I've had it since early last year.
I will be wearing it on my wedding day in early May, just as my wife will be wearing her(Rolex) gift from my self

Font, coronet and the spacing of the depth rating text and numerals.

I already have a MK II but I am struggling with not being able to wear the D-blue. It's sitting there all sized the same as the one I'm currently wearing and ready to go with stickers still intact.
Must be strong

Congrats on that fabulous watch. My favourite. I have to ask also - what are the dial variations? I bought my first DSSD when it came out, exchanged it, then I bought another a few months ago (late 2016, non-Dblue again). Can't readily remember any differences in the dial?

There's a post on this forum with pics of all 3 variations.
I think it will come up if you google it as Rolex Deep-Sea dial variations.
