I love looping the 321 movement, it is nicely finished and just brings me back to my earliest of watch collecting days with all things Speedmaster!

but the thing is...the dial is the BEST part...the perfect design for a chrono, the sunken subs, the seconds to see the heartbeat and the sweeping main timing hand all float in all the right ways, the bezel is updated but super classic...and I would feel bad leaving out the pushers..no guard! and that classic clicky feel..perfection!

the watch is super fun!

Congratulations. Been a patient wait during this last crazy year. Enjoy

Incomings seems to have been slower of late. Anyone else feel the same? Still an incredible timepiece.

Yep, I’ve noticed that. Then there have been very few new snoopies. I guess stock will flow a little more once all come out of lockdowns a bit.

What is the Ed white 321 trading at now on the secondary market? There seem to be so few of them out there. I stopped by a boutique and can probably get one in 3-6 months.

thanks. I imagine that will come down in the coming months as more become available?
Or is this a watch Omega is making in limited supply moving forward, thereby maintaining such high demand for it?

I’d bet the latter. Extremely low production which puts a high floor on the watch.

You'll love the 321, it is such a great watch! The craftsmanship is excellent and the look and feel of the watch is amazing!

It sure is. It’s an amazing piece. I haven’t worn anything else since I got mine.

wow. How you compare the dial/case with the modern/updated speedy pro?
I may end up getting the 3861 with Hesalite in addition to the 321 (which I won't get until later in the year) AND the DSOTM vintage black.

Here’s a comparison of the cases for you. The straight lug case has a much smaller footprint on the wrist. The dial of the 321 compared to the new 3861 is slightly less busy with less text. Personally I prefer that, and I like the long markers with off white lume, but that’s All subjective

That apollo bracelet looks much nicer than the OEM bracelet on the 3861- great wrist shots btw to get a sense of the case/lug differences between them.
Is that apollo 11 bracelet the same bracelet that comes on the 321?

Largely it is the same but the 321 is 19mm and the clasp is ever so slightly different between the two. It’s a great bracelet and looks fantastic on the normal speedy too.

I especially like the dial on the 321, as Steve mentioned, the long markers and the simple text really appeal to me. I like how the 321 case sits and looks with its straight lugs. The new Speedmaster is beautiful, with similar stepped dial and shorter markers, the case sits well on the wrist. The bracelets on both of the watches are excellent, both watches are very comfortable to wear all day.

There are 2 other main differences which you capture really well. Firstly, the bezel on the 321 being ceramic with enamel wording really pops and gives presence which I personally love. Secondly, the milky ring on the sapphire sandwich is very prominent whereas is much less so (In most circumstances invisible) on the 321.

Interesting. Do you guys think the 321 is a fitting piece for one's first speedmaster?

Why not? It’s as fitting as a Daytona is for someone’s first Rolex I guess.

I will say, I handled the new speedmaster yesterday and was extremely impressed with the lightness of the bracelet and the quality overall (I had the hesalite version).

There really aren’t any wrong choices but you can see where the extra goes when you put them together. Just depends what you want really.

Steve, I saw the 321 in person today and pics don't do it justice. It's an amazing piece. As a former owner of an AP 15202, I really like that comparison that someone else made, with the one exception that the 321 is a better daily, as it's far less anachronistic.

Yes, it’s a great watch and I wear mine as my daily right now. I love it.

Do you fancy one yourself?

I didn't, until I saw it in person yesterday.
However, the manager at the boutique wants me to bundle two other purchases -- the speedy pro Hesalite 3861 in addition to the DSOTM vintage black (which I have loved for a while), in order to get the 321 in quarter 3 of this year. The issue is that the discounts on the 3861 and DSOTM will be minimal at best.
If I don't go through them, I can get far greater discounts on each of those two watches (the difference would be close to $5k in savings), but I wouldn't be able to get the 321.

Sorry to hear that. I think the bundling suggestion sucks. Spending the thick end of $15k should be enough. Hope you manage to find a way to do it!
