When I first started up this "Tosser" stuff, it was a word which was supposed to be a milder version of "Wanker" which sounded more abusive.

But I now find that the whole thing has blown out of proportion with virtually quite a few members vying for top status and actually starting up new threads begging to be called "Tossers"............which I think is way over the top!!

In fact, it's become such a fanatic following that some of us have endorsed it as our signature trade-marks.......which would really scare the pants off a newbie logging in for the very first time!!

Yes, I know......I do take FULL responsibility for this...........but it was always meant in good humour and I would also choose the members very carefully because I'm quite sure there would be a few guys here who would feel very offended by that word.

Which brings me to another aspect: Many of our members have their computers in the family room where every member of their family has access to the monitor screen for viewing purposes...........and that includes the kids. So, I'm not too sure how the kids would react reading words like "bastid tosser", etc.

Yes, once again, I take FULL responsibility for that. However, there's no reason why something wrong cannot be set RIGHT. I don't think it's too late for that. I mean this is a watch forum........and a ROLEX forum at that.......a brand which is very near and dear to all our hearts.

An occasional use of the word I guess would be fine and even acceptable; but to blatantly ask for "Tosser Status" is stretching things a bit in my opinion.

A little discretion at times would certainly help. In all fairness and respect to our forum owner, Steve......and all the other Mods, perhaps a wee bit of cutting back on this issue would help.

You know I love you guys as much as you fellas love me...........but when I start to read threads where members are actually clamouring over each other to reach something which most outsiders would look down upon in sheer disdain...............well, that's when I think we start to cross the line.
