Hi Guys

I got 3 bikes and no time to ride either especially as I only ride in the dry.
Not much chance of that in the UK lol

1) My gorgeous MV Agusta.
2) My trusty Honda VFR.
3) My Aprilia RSV"R" Colin Edwards Race Replica.

When i learn how , I will post some pictures

I remember years ago riding my198cc Francis Barnett from Aberdeen to Inverness in February. I was 16 years old and my riding companion was on a Honda 50.

Jeez I LOVE Australia.

New bike / old castle.

Managed to get my grubby little hands on a GS1200 Adv when I was home last time. Great bike.

Clare and I headed over to the West Coast of Scotland last weekend for a blast. Lovely.

I am amazed how well it handles for a big, tall and heavy bike; even 2 up and full of luggage we still managed to get the center-stand touching the road on some of the corners.

"20 grand and 20 miles doesn't make me a biker...but I'm workin' on it!" --- I'm not so sure of that. We used to have a motorcycle club near here and not one of the members had a motorcycle but they sure loved their leather and body piercings. They sure thought they were "bikers."

Yeah but have you seen it in person. I know it's a Sporty but it's TINY. I sat one one at the Bike show last year (they had the 48's as a 2010 just not the X). Granted I'm 6'1" but I looked like Donkey Kong sitting on it.

I do love the Sporty XR1200..but again, it's a Sporty.

Of the many bikes I've owned and ridden, the Sportster 883 was one of my favorites of all time. (And the V-Rod was one of my least. I sold it three months after buying it.)

I was extremely excited to buy the V-Rod. The engine, developed by Porsche, was amazing, but the riding position was uncomfortable after about an hour in the saddle. With the forward controls, the wind blast constantly forced my knees outward. I bought a custom seat and backrest for my spouse, but at 5'9" tall, she was very uncomfortable due to cramped leg position. Given the choice, I would ride the Sportster or my Triumph Legend every time.

Gotcha...thanks for the info...I've been toying with the idea of picking up a used one since it's not the stereotypical HD. but then again i'm so far across the board of what I want to get who knows.....I guess I have to ride it and see.

This is the Forty-Eight

Cool motorcycle. Not much of a suspension on it, but you can get some real far out different color heavy metal flake gas tanks right from HD for it

This is the XR1200X

This is new for 2011. It has a 43mm Showa fully adjustable upside down Big Piston Fork. The rear suspension has a set of 36mm Showa fully adjustable shocks with each one having a piggyback reservoir to adjust the damping.

Four piston Nissin Calipers, 292mm floating rotors, right side high exhaust system, downdraft fuel injection and you're ready to ride Steve-O

Mmmm interesting Paul

I like the Fourty-Eight for it's street cred appearance. That large front tyre looks cool, and with an aftermarket pipe it would sound awesome.
However, it would attract the wrong attention (the Police)
I might give it a test ride at the Harley shop.
As for the XR1200X well that is undoubtedly a great bike, but it isn't really the kind of 'Harley Davidson' I am after.
Again maybe it is worth a test ride.

The lack of suspension is an issue, but my rump has plenty of padding

They definitely nailed the look they were going after with the Forty-Eight

A set of slip-on mufflers would give you the sound without drawing the wrong kind of attention

Since HD 86'ed the Buell line this is a good replacement. They need sport bikes and this one looks great. Kind of a throwback to the 84 750 nighthawk ... imo

Here they had a Fourty-Eight (Harley dealer) custom competition.
Here's one I like:

(Harley Heaven: Adelaide)

This custom job has a turbo and nitros..... now that is getting a bit too crazy............but I love it

see those are some mean looking 48's, but they're highly modded...I definitely dig the XR1200X.

Both are sweet The second one probably will need an engine rebuild way before the first one though Oh how I would love to ride it for a few days

I like the look of the 48, even the feel. I've had a chance to sit on a few of them. I was actually surprised I liked a sportster. The only drawback is the small tank, only 2.5 gallons.

The guys I ride with should be used to be pulling over for gas. I had a Buell with a race kit and got only about 35ish miles to the gallon. That only had a 4.5 gallon tank. I haven't had a chance to check the milage on the S1000rr, but haven't cared. Been too busy smiling on that thing.....

I'm thinkin' the quote means the bike is new to you - just wanted to say that if I buy a new Harley, you've got the one I want. Great lookin' scoot, brother!
