Hi Roger, first of all I LOVE Hong Kong, i lived there for a year, right on the Peak, it was great. Secondly congrats for buying 4 really stunning timepieces. I'm new to Patek and have spent most of this year researching my first purchase which I just got last week - 5970g. I love the watch so much I'm excited to pick it up in the morning and go through the ritual of winding it. I thought long and hard about the various 5270s as well and it's certainly impossible to make a mistake. My favourite of the 4 is the 5970p which I think might be the most perfect watch of all time, period. So enjoy in the best of health and I look forward to seeing more pics. I assume you have other watches too, please keep posting pics. I know you Hong Kong guys like your cars too, so here is a gratuitous Patek/car pic!

Thank you Mark. The 5970G is truly lovely - enjoy it. I have owned 5970s in the past, but I have a nasty habit of turning watches over regularly. I will be trying henceforward to be a bit more disciplined!

I ditched the bad car habit when I left London - waste of time and money in Hong Kong with very limited driving opportunities IMHO. More money for watches and my other expensive hobby.

Well it is funny you say that Paul - my favourite trusted seller on here appears to have a carbon 11 in which is my second favourite version of the 11 - I haven't yet made the enquiry.........

Tell me which one to wear when I see you - not sure I want to be walking around with all of them unless I can borrow your bodyguard!

Good point on the moon phases, but not sure I can be bothered - don't think I ever refer to this function! I gave up adjusting the Celestial a long time ago!

I think I actually stopped breathing after the second 5270 came out of the package....I only assume this as I woke up on the floor with my wife doing chest compressions and telling me to "stay away from the light"!!

Simply amazing Roger - HUGE CONGRATS just doesn't do your reveal any justice, but there you have it!

Roger, ref the 5970 VS 5270 debate, which movement do YOU think is finished to a higher standard and is more beautiful?

It is a great question which requires me to examine them side by side under a magnifier in good lighting. Somewhat bizarrely when I previously owned both models I did not do that analysis. I will do that this coming weekend if not before. Please bear with me. In the meantime here was the group shot when I previously had both in my collection.

Probably heresy on the Patek sub-forum but Lange gazumps Patek on the movement front. Here is my Double Split for example.

Lange movements are amazing with so much depth but their dials personally don't do it for Me. Roger, What is the next Patek you have your eye on? A 5101P would be an amazing addition to your collection
