I have caught on that most people notice but don’t comment. Or they comment indirectly during a casual setting, with a side eye glance of the watch and a rather quickly timed question “so what are you doing for work these days?” Or something close to that.

When it always gets noticed:
Luxury retailers
Auto dealers
Hotel front desks.

Even that list doesn’t usually comment but it’s like a light switch when they do notice.
