Both within spec.

My DJ 116234 is more accurate than my Sub 114060. Only by a hair though. Amazing timepieces.

I do appreciate the mechanics and what have you behind this, but I personally don't care as long as it's not awfully off.
I honestly get my watches cuz I enjoy looking at it. Otherwise, I would've gotten this atomic watch synced ones.

HAGD everyone!

I've never paid attention to it really.

I only ever adjust the time when I have to adjust the date function, or if I'm using the second time zone.

I've never checked, or felt the need to. It's more accurate than it needs to be.

My 116710 loses 3.2 seconds per day on average. I lay it face up at night. I'm still amazed at the engineering. 3 seconds out of 80,000+ per day for a mechanical device is simply mind blowing to me. I set it a minute ahead every month on the first. This month I might try winding it just to see if that impacts anything. It hasn't been wound since March when I bought it.

1991 Daytona - about +1.5sec / day. Not bad but if you're an accuracy freak I suggest a Breitling superquartz. Mine was about +2.4 sec/year.

+ 10.8 seconds per day on my SubC.

Trip to the a Rolex SC for me.

I've just started a thread titled Rolex Service Centre UK question where I'm looking for some advice if you all wouldn't mind taking a look.

Mine is a shade under 2 seconds a day fast. I can live with that. If I tried I could get it closer to zero by resting it in a certain position at night.

DIY regulation?

I'll admit that I'm a bit OCD when it comes to timing. My 43YO GMT 1675 runs about -4 sec./day after recent service and my new-to-me Daytona 116520 is +5/day, also after recent service at RSC. I find both to be outside my comfort zone but not unnervingly so, as I would like to see no more than a minute variation per month (2 sec./day).

Has anyone attempted DIY regulation? I understand the principle of the four small screws on the balance wheel, where turning in speeds and turning out slows the timing, but this requires special tools. Removing the case back is not a big deal, but can one buy the regulating wrench needed? All that said, even though I maintain my own cars, motorcycles, etc., I don't think I would attempt doing anything beyond looking at the watch movement.

I watched a watchmaker do the regulation on my GMT once and in one hand he held the balance wheel with tweezers and did the regulation with the other. It would seem that holding with tweezers might stress the delicate mechanism.

It's not difficult at all. You just need case back tool, tweezers, a microstella tool, and a timegrapher. All of which can be readily purchased. As for stressing the mechanism, it's not that delicate (hairsprings are) and you won't hurt it by holding it immobile with tweezers. I've also used a pegwood stick to do the job - it just depends on how you're trained.
