312 for me

I stumbled upon this post and could not believe the number of view and replies. Thought I would cast one more vote for the 312 and see if others jumped back into this thread.

i would go hunt down a pam 190.

i have a 210 and the clean base dial leaves me wanting nothing.

i know that is not answering your specific question, but in the beginning of my pam hunt, I was a big fan of the 312...now im much fonder of the radiomir cases.

233 wins every time. Slimmer and more comfortable case, domed crystal makes it look more special and 8 day movement is awesome!

I picked between both at a dealer last month- it was an easy decision- the 312 was just superior and looked so much better on the wrist- I just don't like the 233's domed crystal and busier dial

I really like both. But if I had to choose only one, it would be the 233. I like the dome and the 8 days.

Was torn between the 312, 233 and 270 for an age.

The domed crystal on the 233 and 270 is genuinely gorgeous - and lends both watches a vintage look lacking in the 312. Yet somehow I still ended up opting for the 312!!!

I went into the AD countless times to try on these three watches. Each time I found myself linger just a bit longer on the 312. At first I thought it was due to the price: I could have a spare 312 for the price of the 270!!! But eventually I realised I just preferred the "clean" styling of the 312. The 233, though more comfortable, just begs for its "9" to be reinstated next to the subdial. And the 270, stunning though it is, somehow looked cluttered - principally due to the horizontal PR indicator.

So my vote (like my money) went with the 312, and no regrets. I've been back to the AD a number of times since I bought the watch - principally to look at a JLC grande reverso 976. But I can never stop myself from wondering over to the PAMs each time I go. And each time I find myself looking at the 312 thinking "that's the one!".

I miss my 312. It was perfect. Though if the 233 had a 9 that would probably tip the scale.

Now that this post is 4 years old....what watch would you prefer today? Keep in mind that the 233 is over $6000 more than the 312.

What do you think today?

233...if the 312 did not have the "9" on the dial it would probably be the 312.

I certainly did have that in mind when I chose the 233 over the others in my final short list (111, 233 & 320). All three had their attractive points but the 233 was ahead by quite a bit... . I knew that if I took the 233, there wouldn't be another PAM in my near future. .. 14mths later and the 233 is still my one and only PAM but I couldn't be happier. Besides. .. that's what strap-addictions are for... ;)

Exactly my rationale for picking the 233 and feelings towards it

But guys, it's been a hard year, watching you all buying your second (...sometimes third and even a few werywery fortunate are already on your fourth for the year )

I'm flying to Firenze next week... wasn't planned but I got an offer I couldn't refuse... so it looks like I'll only be buying a strap (or baseball cap ) when I visit Officine Panerai on Piazza San Giovanni 16R...

The 233 is my next purchase and, IMO, the epitome of the Panerai models. I was never really fond of the 312... until I saw it in person. Gorgeous watch. That said, it does sit incredibly high on the wrist, and as someone who wears a lot of dress shirts for work, this makes it difficult. I also prefer the manual wind movement on the 233.

Either way, both watches are awesome.

233 is still more "fluid" and "sleek".. almost batman like cool with the tunnel strap!

I am a one watch guy and have owned last gen sub, 2 Deep Seas, 112, 312, now 233. Sub was a bit small for me. Deep Sea and 312 were a little top heavy. 233 is the most comfortable by far. Sits perfectly, balanced dial, just the right amount of comiplications, retro and modern at the same time, domed crystal, great straps, solid presence. Goldilocks.
