Wow...
Is there a discount for 5167/1A there?

HK got a price cut about two years ago, and now this one. The fact is Patek tried to take advantage of a hot Asia market with an overflow of eager Chinese buyers, but they went overboard and raised the price too much. Then they realised the Chinese buyers are now more educated and not as price insensitive as they used to be, and stocks of unsold watches starts to pile up at the ADs.

Price of 5726/1A in HK went from $396,000 HKD to $331,000 (first price cut), and now after yesterday's cut, it is now $307,700, FYI.

it's not that chinese buyers are sensitive to price increases and what not, its because there's such a huge price disparity between countries that it makes absolutely no sense not to buy from a lower priced region.
if all 5726 were priced at 396000 HKD equivalents, then i'm sure they wouldn't have the same problem.
thus the problem lies in price disparity, not absolute price.
i would've preferred they fixed this problem by bringing up the prices in 'cheaper' regions, AKA 14% increase in euro regions up to par with the rest of the world, without price decreases elsewhere. this way, they solve the price disparage problem as well as not devalue the brand

less of an issue before the euro crashed, where many then bought from europe (and not from their home countries)

Cigarette CEOs also said their products not addictive. I don't buy in whatever Patek says. You think all those past price increases in HK went without Geneva knowing? Of course they okayed it. Patek tried to maximise the margins in HK, there's price disparity because they thought they can get away with charging a significant premium in HK.

Well, now they can't, and they had to lower not once, but twice in the past 3 years.

As for why don't they just increase the price to make it all the same? I am sure they thought of that, but the slow market probably nixed that idea, because price cuts has got to be their last resort.

I was told a 15% increase today in Canada. I have no idea what's going on? I feel bad for the people buying at the increased price if this is true

Thanks Racerdj! I love my 5711. It will be hard to keep it off my wrist.

My son is 2 years old now so I am guessing the 5711 will have more than made up the 7% decrease back in price appreciation when I give it to him in 23 years. 😃. In the meantime, I get to enjoy it.

HK still seems the cheapest now, but anyone know about Thailand?
I was offered 13% off the old 5960p and 5980/1A without much effort in Bangkok a few years ago (Siam Paragon), so I'm thinking 15-18% is a legit discount. Combined with the 3/7% cut it might be interesting.

I was told no change in price yesterday from one AD in Canada and another said they didn't have the new pricing yet.

Of course I also found that there was a 10% higher price at the Alberta AD before the price change as compared to an AD in another province... Was a little perturbed when I figured that out.

After a tax refund, I got mine 5726a in Spain for 23,500 Euros on 26th December 2014, which is about 222,700 HKDs. If I were to buy it a little bit late and make it on late Jan, it would be 8% cheaper due to a significant drop in Euros. Perhaps, my AD there wouldn't allow because I paid a deposit since October. Still, a pretty good deal.

Trust me, you don't get any better price than those in Europe. Unbeatable!

No not from what I heard especially given CDN dollar weakness. Canada already was dealt with earlier and given price increase from my recollection.

Wow !! I guess if you are buying from scratch is a good deal.
But if you want a upgrade is kind of a wash, you loose when you sell and gain when you buy, right ?
