I tried one on and while I think it's beautiful, it's too big for my 6 1/2" wrist. 39 would have been perfect for a dressy watch.

Thank you, Dan

It was the quickest purchase that i've done in my life.
It is so different from all my other watches plus the fact that i am a lover of the Arabic numerals left me no choice than to buy it in an afternoon !!!!
World record for me

cool story Panos.

I have had a few quick / impluse buys myself and love it. Isnt it great when you are at the right place at the right time? ;-)

Hope this one stays with you for a long time. I'm sure your DJII will become a future classic.

Thanks, Eric

It sure is but it also puts a lot of guilt in your mind when you realise what you've just did. But time heals everything...(excuses excuses)

Hi guys, you gotta love the blue! It's hard to do justice to the beauty of the blue dial in my poor photos, but these 2 will give you an idea :P

I am usually not a "dress" watch kinda guy, but yesterday I walked into a local BB and was browsing the Rolex case. I tried on the DJII (WG bezel black face stick dial) and I like it a lot!

I think the 41mm is what really turns me on the the watch. For me, the smaller AK/DJ/DD just looked and felt too small.

This watch might prevent me from going over to the dark side!

Exactly, with the 41's, the Datejust has broken out of 'old men's territory', and attained a sportier cred.
I'd always thought I'd get a GMTIIC, but when I saw the DJII in the metal, I was won over. The bezel might be too blingy for some, but when one is approaching 40 years of age, one could be allowed a bit of bling :D

As a matter of fact, I was wearing my DJII when I went for a dip with my kid (not really a swim, it was at a kids' water amusement playground or whatever u call it), and I thought the watch looked just right at the pool!

love the baton at 9 oclock. It balances the date window quite well.
Kudos to Rolex for that ;-)

not the "best" compare to other dial options. The only lume bits are the baton at 9 oclock, hour and minute hands.

Will see if I have a pic to post when I'm back on the laptop in the morning.

Great thread, and refresh ttt......

Tried a lovely silver dial DJ II in the Schipol Rolex Boutique yesterday, fits like a glove and if I hadn't just purchased the Milgauss back in blighty a few days ago I would have been all over it like a rash....
