The Rolex 1315 Caliber...a first for me
Having opportunity to serve a wide variety of vintage Rolex movements through the years, I wanted to show some pictures of this ’59 Oyster Date model. Although ii may not be considered a highly collectible piece, it’s something special to the family and for me, it’s my first acquaintance with a lady size Rolex Caliber 1315 and I was very impressed...
...Impressed, because of all the support this tiny size movement provides and the accuracy it keeps. I say small because the dimensions are 6 ¾ x 8 ligne or 15 mm x 18 mm. That’s the approximate size of a Dime. 1.jpg Firstly, this little movement supports a Driving Wheel for the Sweep Hand function 2 b.jpg In addition, this movement carries the load of driving a Date Indicator. A frame work is needed to hold the Date Indicator 3 b.jpg 4 b.jpg And now...add a beautiful blued steel Sweep Hand with Calendar Window 5.jpg 6.jpg 7.jpg |
