Wiil Tudor Watches Ever Be Sold in the US?
Sorry if this has been discussed before but I am curious if Tudors will ever be offered in the US? Why are they not currently sold in the US? Thanks for any input.

This has been discussed many times and it is my observation that no one really knows, but almost everyone wishes they would.
Personally, I don't see it happening, but I really don't know anymore than anyone else. |

Gary, as Grady says, many speculate or have heard Tudor sales will return to the US in the future.
The only reason I can see that Tudor sales were stopped in the US was because it cut into Rolex sales. dP

Yes, according to Bruno Meier, the current head of Rolex:
Here's an excerpt from this interview: http://rolexforums.com/showthread.ph...le+translation "We have quite a large market share with Tudor in Hong Kong & China, even though the brand exists since 1926, we had never really put 100% effort behind it to promote the brand in Europe & the USA. Now, with production running close to 200,000 watches, we are ready to provide the necessary funds to launch Tudor correctly in Europe and then later in the US."

I heard it was to placate Swatch/Omega so they would continue selling ETA movements to Tudor.Tudor stays out of the US they get the movements.

Well, that is certainly interesting news.
I can't wait to see how that pans out, especially the part about the ETA movements. Would that mean that Rolex would be the only company outside the Swatch group who will continue receive ETA movements and ebauches? |

Seems to me that most of the Tudors I see on this forum are older ones....The news designs (excepting the excellent new Heritage Chrono model) don't seem as nice to me.
That being said, this comment is based on first impressions from briefly scanning Tudor's Web site....Never sought them out in stores over here. |

Yes, Rolex has announced that they are going to resume sales in the USA, they made that announcement one year ago. It's just a matter of when. They will not say when.

With the global economy still circling the drain, the Euro stressed by the Greek situation and unemployment and uncertainty with the US Dollar, it will almost certainly be a couple more years! Maybe they're developing new economy movements for them? It would be a good time. New movement, new marketing, "new" Tudor! Alfa Romeo is due back in the US, but that seems to be on hold as well.

I think it's time to bring the Tudor back myself - back to the USA.

John, love the silver sub dials. And the vintage display stand just completes the package.

Thanks Dan. It is a 1982, or should I say originally sold in 1982. It was a one owner with very little wear. The guy loved watches and bought one anytime he saw something he liked. I received the original sales invoice with the watch also. A very nice set.
