Possible price increase
I visited the Panerai boutique on Madison Ave. in NYC last week and had the pleasure of trying in a couple of watches including a PAM 1535. Did not purchase anything at the time. My sales lady informed that they had received a call from corporate that morning(Thursday) informing them that a price increase was coming on all watches. Could have just been a sale ploy, but thought I would pass along the info.

Considering nearly all models can be had at significant discounts, that would surprise me

Sounds like a sales gimmick. Most regular production Panerai models sell well under MSRP at ADs. I do think boutiques are required to sell at MSRP, but will often throw in "extras" when a purchase is made. If you go into a dealer that carries Panerai among other brands, usually the salesperson will offer the discount before you can even ask for one.
I was in Houston a few months back and the saleswomen told me she could "do better" on the price tag on the PAM 233. Unfortunately I was not in the market at the time. |
