Wife's watch back from Womble Watch Works

Today I picked up my wife's 1968 model Rolex from Womble Watch Works in Atlanta. Her watch is a daily wearer for her and it has only been serviced twice before! Ashely Womble, a super nice guy, said her watch was dirty and dry, but otherwise in good condition. In addition to the CLA on the movement, he cleaned up the hands and dial which gives the watch a rich patina.

Attached is a photo of the watch before it went to Womble. It now looks a lot better!

Ashley Womble has now serviced an Omega Speedmaster and this Rolex for me and I could not be more satisfied with his work. Needless to say, I highly recommend him. Cheers, Bill P.

Beautiful.

Never seen a ladies model like that. Wonder how much it cost back in '68 and how much it would go for now a days.

I clearly remember these when new in the late 60's
Rolex with white gold bracelets and the lesser makes with
black rope.

The Japanese some 10 years ago went
crazy collecting ladies Rolex like this one
Price back then..$6,700 dollars !!

Kesaharu Imai in his book "Rolex 2421 watches"
has a few pages with fotos dedicated to dress
ladies Rolex watches.

So, probably about $10,000 these days?

Wow! I had no idea that these ladies Rolex watches were so valuable to some collectors.

When I got the watch for her it was "very expensive" to me.... around $700 or so if memory serves. It came with a simple black nylon strap. The diamonds you see in the photo are part of the case. A few years later I got her the diamond bracelet.

Her watch is in beautiful condition as she takes care of her things. She is so pleased with Ashley's work and will continue to wear and enjoy it. Her small and simple "wear around" watch is a ladies Citizen quartz that I got her about 10 years ago.
