So Precisionwatches.nl photoshops his pictures

You may have seen my previous thread "so, why can't people describe things properly ? 114060"
So I bought this watch from precisionwatches.nl, I had seen it advertised chrono24 using this picture, the same picture was on his website :

114060 after.jpg

in email communication he told me the watch was "1 Mint" and "like new"
the watch arrived with a ding in the lug, a scratched glide lock clasp and a scratch on the crystal. precisionwatches told me he would send me £100 to have the ding removed and the clasp polished, he was sorry and didn't know how he missed the damage, he even blamed the lighting in his shop !

Today I emailed him about the scratch on the crystal. He said he would have a look at his pictures and it the scratch was there he would pay for the crystal to be replaced. So I just received this picture from him :

114060 before.jpg

Notice how similar the pictures are, notice the time on the watch, they were taken 3 seconds apart. Yet one shows damage and one doesn't !!!
I have pointed out the scratch on the crystal on his original pictures but now he won't reply. I haven't even received the £100 he said he had sent me to have the damaged lug & clasp repaired.
So, be careful out there, you can't even trust his pictures

I don't even think those are the same watches. Look at how the minute markers on the bezel line up with the bezel teeth. Something funny is going on with his pictures, that's for sure.

i can see the lug , missing the crystal ,,, but if the pics are photoshopped , surely its just a case of cash back , and find another. how did you pay.
you cant photoshop a picture by accident.

Get a refund and move on. Obviously you are not getting satisfaction from dealing with this seller so why keep trying.

get the FULL refund you deserve. Don't try to have the seller compensate. Use that money and buy from a trusted seller on TRF

In addition to the bezel, and the minute hand not being in the right spot for 3 seconds later, the shadows are different, and the depth of field is different on the two images. I doubt he photoshopped it. More likely it's an outright lie about being the same watch.

I hope you can get your money back from this guy.

Clearly not the same pic, without even going into the finer details the 12 0'clock bracelet links are laid in a different position.

I've known other sellers online to simply use the same photo for all watches they sell. (that is, all watches of same model of course)

In theory, this is fine if the watches are all brand new, as well, how do they really deviate from factory? But, if you're selling used watches, it's best practice to take pics of the actual pieces.

Good catch. And he's got some kind of soft focus thing, in addition to the shallow DOF, that doesn't really show any kind of detail.

I suggested that in the earlier thread, and I still think that's the way to go.

In addition to the bezel teeth, the minute marker directly hits the tick in the first pic but is off slightly in the second!

I am pretty sure that Chrono24 holds the sellers money for 30 days. If that is still the case, get your money back and complain to Chrono24. They always favor the buyer.

Don't forget the second hand sweeps rather than ticks from second to second

Shame as Precisionwatches has quite a good rep but I would only buy in person anyway, and this goes to show even more so why.

I have bought twice from this seller and both were good deals.
Honest guy imho.
Everybody sometimes misses one and tries to settle it the quick way. I am sure he will come up with a satisfying solution..

Sorry, but I can't agree about missing one ! I don't understand how you can only have one of a particular model of watch advertised yet use a picture of a mint watch in the advert while the one watch you have in stock is dinged and scatched. And they had pictures of the actual watch showing the damage all along !
He does seem a decent guy though and I'm hopeful he will make this right.
I have to say I've bought 2 watches from him previously a couple of years ago and all went well, but they were brand new and not used
