Ebay site you've got to check out

I was playing around on ebay and came across this site. Apparently this guy has gotten ahold of some Rolex promotional items. You've GOT to see the outrageous prices that he's asking for these items.

One example is the pocket knife that JJ has received from his AD. This is basically a Swiss Army pocket knife that can be purchased for $10-15 anywhere. He is selling it for $200. But, by FAR the best item on his site was the "bargain" set of Rolex coasters for a mere $849.

Am I crazy, are people really spending this kind of money for these items? I'm certainly a fan of Rolex, but there's a difference between being a fan and simply being foolish.

Just my opinion. Here's the link. Have fun....

One more quick item. Once you're on the website, look at the left hand column and check out the clothing/apparel section and click on that choice. You'll see some real "bargains" such as a Rolex sweatshirt for $269 or a Rolex polo shirt for about $350. I want to meet the person that's buying this stuff, because I've got some land I'd like to sell................

it seems like the Rolex patch at 'only' $90 is the best bargain..LOL

BTW, do those coasters actually mix the cocktail for you?

I'm having a rough time deciding between the 4 golf balls/5 golf tees for $199.99 or the cheap looking nylon duffle bag for only $550.00. I'll wait for JJ to help me make an "educated" decision!!

OMG. That has got to be one of the biggest ripoffs around. $2700 for a wooden framed clock, a fiberboard back, and a $2.00 quartz engine.

This may be the next best definition of chutzpah.

LMAO at this crazy thread and all your comments, guys!!

Those prices are definitely waaaaaaaaay over the top. WOW!! 90 bucks for my trusty SD screwdriver and 7 bucks for a red chronometer hang tag. That guy must be nuts if he thinks there are such stupid suckers out there.

On second thoughts, there must be such stupid suckers out there!!

Absolutely, Amanda. No one, but no one, in his right mind would even THINK of paying such ridiculous prices for what he has to offer!!

I WANT THAT POCKET KNIFE BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My AD promised that once they get one it will be mine. The prob with these promo items is that my AD never knows what he is going to get. Its not like they have a specific item that goes with specific watches. I told my AD to order every single watch in the catalog including Daytona SACO and see if we get the knofe

Not a very exciting knife, Roger....at least NOT for a man, anyway. The features in it are all LADY-like, so I gave it away to Zemina.

...and next to my TRUE love!!

I think maybe Rolex (or a disgruntled employee) are trying to make some extra mooola on the side and have opened an Ebay shop... thats the only explanation for these ridiculous prices!

yup pretty dang foolish if you ask me.

I would never buy a fake Rolex, but I do not think I would have a problem buying something like an unauthorized Rolex pen, keychain, or such.

I bought a Rolex shot glass once, it was not authorize Rolex but it was cool, I did not feel bad at all about buying it. But I would not ever buy a fake watch.

Well agree ridiculous prices, but if people are prepared to pay they are crazy. Its a bit like paying grey market prices for a Daytona,IMO they are barking mad crazy but a lot still do.

Roger,
I understand that you would like that "Rolex" pocket-knife, but you can purchase the exact Swiss Army Knife for under $12 anywhere. They even come in different colors now other than red. Yes, I understand that the entire attraction is that it says Rolex, but it won't function any differently.

At face value, the guy is a thief (that is, if anyone is stupid enough to pay those outrageous prices).

I get free versions of this sort of knife all the time from vendors. Nothing too special about it really.
