Its a solid piece, that green is something you like or you don't. With the onset of ceramics on all sport model Rolex bezels, this LV is becoming a harder to find.

On that topic, I did see the green dial/green bezel Sub at my AD. And oh my, that was quite something, so much better in the flesh, as always.

In any event, my Sub LB is well cared for and still gets out for trips to the wide world.

Thanks for the kind words about the review, your input is much appreciated. Always a huge pleasure to do a review for a new Rolex, but at the present market standard, I do not foresee doing such a review for some time.

Thank you for this review. I picked up my LV last week. I am learning a lot about my watches on this forum. I am really enjoying the watch. I constantly find myself looking at it.

I understand. I really do miss my Sea Dweller, it was a unique and one of a kind piece, but the date was just too damn small for eyes this age.

That said, when I owned the SD and the Pepsi GMT II, I had two Rolex watches that were very purpose designed, that were icons and yet on their way out, being replaced by updated designs. I still have the GMT II (with all three authentic bezels) which always wears the Pepsi bezel. I do regret still not having both the Pepsi and the old SD, but I needed to be able to read the date, so I traded the SD for the LV.

The LV is a nice watch, no doubt, and I enjoy mine, but if my eyes were better, I believe I would have stuck with the SD. Sub and old SD are both fine diving watches, but the SD was heavier, beefier, just more solid and much more rare; I have yet to see an older SD in the wild.

Thanks friend, its nice to see that other forum members checking in on the reviews.

I checked reviews endlessly before buying, it really gives some decent insight on your choice before pulling the trigger.

Best,

C

Thank you for a very well thought out reveiw Chris. I've been on the fence for a few months now trying to decide between a Sea Dwellar and a Sub LV.

Much like youself my old eyes made the LV the logical choice. Been the proud owner for two weeks now and absolutely love this watch.

As much as I love my other watches I don't see them getting much wrist time from here on in. (except for the Daytona)

Very nice! Cheers on the LV. I am, today, wearing my Z series Pepsi. Need to track a second time zone for a few weeks.

Best,

Chris

I rarely wear my LV, probably because of the size of my collection, but when I do, I love the reaction from people that are not Rolex enthusiasts. They see the green bezel and stare.

Great review and pics... Looking to get a new Sub Date myself and your review has been helpful. Got to love that incredibly beautiful green bezel!
