A couple of questions on serials:
-are all number combinations used, ie all numbers between 000001 - 999999?

-are numbers being used in ascending order (for example first d-series watch is the D000001 and last the D999999)?

i am trying to understand whether the clasp date mark (MA11 - nov 2005 i think) and the serial no (D916XXX) make any sense..

The D is definitely 2005, I am not sure about the MA11 on the clasp.

The case and the bracelet can be manufactured at different times, its possible that one is made before the other. But the case serial is only a guesstimate. some 06 comes with the D series serial, I get the impression that the watch has to be an 06 because the clasp code is 06 so the watch must left the factory in 06.

D is the date letter from April 2005 to April 2006, the serials are randomly chosen by computer Ma 11 plus D date letter for November 2005.But bracelet and case could be manufactured at slightly different times,the serial is the most important

Tks. So the fact that serial numbers are computer generated and not used in ascending order should rule out my initial thought that since my serial is D916XXX, my watch should have been one of the last d-series to be manufactured.. actually it seems from the above, that the serial number is not indicative of the manufacturing date. Only the initial letter of the serial is.

tks for the link jj. had already checked it from a previous post of yours but couldn't find an answer on how the numbers in the serial are decided (ie. if computer generated or in ascending order).
