Incoming!!!!

So a little back story. My goal as a father of four girls was to always get my collection of nice watches to four (I have several other watches that are nice but not considered luxury) so that they will all receive a watch from me at some point in their lives for a big event like a wedding, college graduation,...etc. I don’t have a ton of money and I probably won’t be incredibly rich ever, but I’ve always wanted to give something to my girls that is a part of me.( I happen to love watches). And hopefully they will feel the significance of the gift. Anyways my collection of luxury watches include a Rolex Datejust 16220 that is currently on the wrist of my father (that’s another cool story). A Rolex seadweller 16600. The Grand Seiko SBGJ227 or Peacock....and now this beauty!

. The Grand Seiko SBGR311 limited.

If you followed my other thread in the non Rolex forum you would of saw that I was undecided between a Bulgari Octo or a Cartier De Santo midsize. When I saw this it made me forget completely about those two. The dial is pure awesomeness and the movement is a workhorse. To me Grand Seiko is gonna be classic. What do you all think?

I’m a total Grand Seiko fan boy now. They are incredibly accurate and the finishing is top notch. Some say it’s hard to buy an expensive Seiko. I find it incredibly easy.

Thanks! Yea it’s got some good wrist presence for sure. I have the SBGJ227 hi beat also and between the two it is the more accurate watch but not by much. I had a GMT Master root beer but got rid of it and ever since I missed that color in my collection. Having this in my collection takes care of that for me.

Congrats! I love the dial of this watch maybe some day!

Btw, it looks like end piece doesn't fit to well?

Yes, the end link doesn’t quit reach the Bottom of the bezel which throws me off a little, but overall there isn’t much wrong with this watch at all.

I like it. At first glance the dial reminded me of rich coffee beans. Very nice. I'm defiantly getting to like the GS more and more.

Congratulations.
