Icon10 Incoming JDM Turtle

Greetings from Nagasaki, where I just picked up one of these SBDY015 Turtles. I wan’t sure if Seiko made a JDM equivalent of the SRP777, but I guess this is it. Caseback also says Made in Japan and it has a Kanji day option, but is otherwise the same, looks-wise. The website says “new” and the serial starts “83” so I guess it was only made last month. Anyway, I will post wrist shots here when I get home later this week.

Yes, yesssss. I was looking for one of these as well, but I did not come across any - not at BIC, not at Yodabashi, and not even at the Gotenba Outlet. Such a pity. Looking forward to wristshots, Adam!

I just got the blue one, my first Turtle. Enjoying it too. Subtle blue. The new rubber straps are great! Mine is USA, but I don't think these differ much, if at all. Ebay offered me a coupon and wow, it was really cheap, like $209. I purchased the rubber strap, extra. I think the rubber is the way to go, it is heavy on the bracelet. Alot of watch for the money. I have enjoyed my monsters, and for a minute regretted this purchase, I had just made a big purchase of a Rolex, like my monster, and thought I wouldn't wear it much- kind of overloaded myself. But for the price and the value it packs, I enjoy having it. I love the lume and the legibility of it, it is very easy to read. Enjoy your new watch, Seiko is a super company, huh... value value value!

Thanks guys. Won, this was the only one I found in stock here, oddly enough at a pop-up store. Luckily I got 20% off retail including the tax deduction. I wore it over to Gunkanjima, the deserted industrial island used as a location in Skyfall today, and will post pics when home.

off set crown...

I want to add that I really like the off set crown at 4 o'clock. I think it looks cool, and find that some big crowns dig into the wrist...

Great pick-up Adam. I also can't wait to see photos of Gunkanjima if you have some watch shots taken there. It looks a very eerie place!

Yes, pics please! I was scratching my head, wondering why it was so difficult to locate ANY Turtles. Ah well, I am satisfied with my SARY057 (or I have to be anyway!). I am curious with regards to pricing; is it bad to request for a discount? I am always worried about offending the salesperson. Were you offered 20% discount without having to ask? Looking forward to all the pics

Congrats Adam. I have a month old SRP779 that I purchased for pool, lake and beach activities. I have found that I want to wear it all the time, they are fun watches and very comfy on the rubber.

There was a lot of talk about the SRP line being discontinued, it looks like they just changed the reference numbers. Would you say it is 100% the same as the 777?

Adam do you think you will possibly get a steel bracelet to wear with your turtle on occasions?
