Can we require original FS posts not be removed?

Not sure why some people always erase the first post in their ads instead of leaving it there so people have pictures or price for reference later. I think it should be a requirement to have the original not be deleted.

The only thing that is ever removed is the pictures. That is by the sellers removing them from their image hosting account should they use one, and has nothing to do with the forum.
The body of the thread and it's item with details always remain.
The thread itself is never completely removed.

What about them?

They are just another thread added by the seller (usually sitting right above the original thread) saying sold! Although completely unnecessary IMO, some sellers do this, however, simply adding another post to the original thread stating 'sold' would be far better and all that is needed.

Either way, go to that sellers posted threads, and you'll find the original FS thread still there.

Case in point, here is the original listing from the first link you posted!

Gotcha gotcha. Thank you for clarifying! People used to do this on a BMW forum I frequent until they made it a requirement to keep the OP.

I do see how it can become a little confusing to the less frequent users, but I can assure you, we do not remove content unless it is for good reason.
