Sorry about the thread hijac but are Lobbs as good as people say they are.

I've been thinking about buying a pair of their shoes and I went to their shop in London recently but I hadn't appreciated just how expensive the first pair would be!

Thanks.

If you buy a pair from their classic line, yes. For a Ready to wear shoe as long as lit fits you are getting some of the best Good Year Welted shoes available today. John Lobb because of its connection with Hermes gets you some of the best leather money can buy. So although you can pay less and the shoe May last just as long with the top tier shoemakers your paying for the finer details. The better designs, the better quality leather, closer attention to detail, better soles, better finishing, and much better quality control. Frankly when I look for the best looking shoes typically it's the top tier shoemakers which have the more aesthetically appealing designs.

However recently they have a new chief designer who has made a great number of questionable designs, for these absolutely NOT!!!
