SS Daytona Patrizzi before and after

Ten years ago I posted this pic of my SS Daytona that I got used from an AD in Atlanta.

Look at the Patrizzi changes ten years later.

Cant wait to see what the next ten years will bring.

It would be nice to see a better picture of what the first 10 years brought.

Was watch used regularly or kept in the dark (safe queen)?

Here is better picture.

The watch is worn sparingly and otherwise stored in a watch case not exposed to sunlight.

I think the owners of these watches would prefer the term oxidation instead of rusting to explain what is happening to the dial.

How was the market 10 years ago, high demand for these or not as crazy as today?

I paid $8000 for the watch. At that time MSRP for a brand new SS Daytona was about $8500.

The AD knew it was a Zenith Daytona but did not charge a premium for it and did not make a big fuss about it.

It was only a few years later when the dial started to change that I realized what a true find this was.

I think all SS Daytonas will continue to increase in value. It just seems now that the older Zenith models are on fire right now.
