That’s so awesome for him! The lesson is worth the money. He’s never going to forget working really hard to get what he wants. Well done!

This virus has thrown a wrench in the works. My boy goes to private school and they are really pilling on the work while they work from home. He is a bit frustrated.... so will pull out the Gshock for some inspiration!!!!

No wrist shot yet. Just show him what he is working towards. Wrist shot at end of year... when report card is in.

So today was the day. We got my sons official final grades in the mail and it coincided with his 13th bday. So he recieved his Gshock and loves it.

Cool story. I enjoyed this thread immensely. I was rooting for your son! He picked a really cool watch and obviously has a really cool dad. I'm glad he made the grades. I'm sure if you ask really nicely he may let you borrow it some day! Cheers.

He does have great taste! He did great and passed with flying colors even under the very different circumstances due COVID19. I am so proud of him...

Congrats all around! Great thread- infinitely more enjoyable than another "Incoming" thread. Admittedly, I was another one of those guys hoping you would follow up w/his 1st wrist shot!

Thanks. Because of the Pandemic school took their sweet time sending out final grades. I was so happy to give the Gshock to him and he was so happy to get it. It was definitely a moment etched in both our memories...

I literally cheered for your son there! Well done him. Smart kid in all sorts of ways. I still have a watch obtained in similar circumstances. I think you both learned some important life lessons!

More seriously, I like your style... set out the consequences in advance then let them make their own choices.

Thank you! My son and I read it together. He was chuckling the whole time and recalling the purchase experience...

Money well spent!

Kid got good grades which is super important. Plus he learned the value of hard work and has the super nice gshock to remind him of that for years to come.

Great parenting!

The MTG doesn't appear to be as big as I thought it would be, and looks good on him.

Congrats X2!

What a fabulous thread. I was rooting for your son all along. He has got a fabulous watch (so have you). Many congratulations to your son, he deserves it. I hope you show him this thread.

Thank you! Agreed on all counts. He is really enjoying learning all the features available on the watch and g shock app as it interacts with the watch.

We read the comments together. He is really enjoying the interaction. He sends his thanks to all whom rooted for him. He wants to write up his version of the shopping experience and getting to the watch...

Your son probably thought to himself "now who's the daddy?". Cool story and nice watch. I loved Casio digital watches when I was a kid.

Imho I would be wary giving such an expensive piece to a young lad, if there is even a remote chance of someone wanting it more then him creating a target.

Super lovely gesture though.
