5905p or...

I have always been looking for a platinum patek and 5905p is top of the list fora long time. As I continue to research I come across of the idea of a full metal bracelet, in white gold, patek like a 5396. As an occasional watch which is a better long term option?

Do you mean value retention as long term option? IMO, annual calendars with PM bracelets look out of place. I like the 5905p but try it on since it is a thick and heavy watch.

Value and maintenance. I don't think maintenance cost will be different that much between an annual calendar vs an annual calendar with a chronograph? Also I expect platinum to be more resistant to scratch and dent?

Compared to gold a little more resistant. Stainless steel is lightyears more resistant though. Any steel or similar tends to badly scratch or dent platinum, say the zipper of a jacket...

Good looking watch and a big fan of the 60 minute timer.

As you may have noticed, I'm also lusting for this one. Darn the beautiful thing.

The 5905p is really so gorgeous. Did anyone have a deployant clasp with it and does that make the watch feel even heavier?

Did you put the deployant on the strap that came with the 5905P or did you buy a new strap?

You know I have the deployant because there was a time I thought all nice watches should have one. My AD gave me the deployant for cost when I got my 5905. Today my tune has changed. I prefer the buckle clasp. It’s cleaner, sears better for me. In the future I don’t think I would order a deployant. If it comes with it great, but I don’t think I’d order it in the future. I guess age has changed my taste.
