Yes it was tasty all around. It's been a while since I had some wine so we were happy with this one. Bad part is I only have 1 or 2 bottles left of the 03.

Have a great weekend!

Wow that is amazing, the 2014 bottle has been one that I thought would be hard to beat. How is the 2015?

Are you a club member? Was the dinner at the vineyard?

The 2015 was wonderful. We are not club members currently. Dinner was at golf country club.

What did you think of the Eyrie 2012 Chard? I live up in Oregon and have always enjoyed their Chard and a few of their Pinot.

The host blinded the Eyrie with the Arnaud Ente, which wasn’t a fair comparison. Eyrie was a solid representation of Oregon white wine, but it’s not in the class of the Ente or even the Fevre Vaillons. No one with any background with white burgundy would mistake the Eyrie for an Old World wine.

Heading to Napa later this year. I belong to a couple wine clubs out there and it's always fun to return to those vineyards and use the free tasting benefits!

Anyone ever have Opus One? It's in my top favorite of all time.

The Inglenook Vineyard is gorgeous as well...

Great wines....
Used to go to the San Gennaro festivities many a time growing up in NYC, when 'Little Italy'.. was in it's 'Hey Day'.. Now, unfortunately, only 2-3 blocks along Mulberry Street. Thankfully , many of the old restaurants and especially ' Ferrara Bakery & Cafe'. - Best Cannoli and Sfogliatella in town..+.
Miss 'em.

You might be right, but never forget the Judgement of Paris 1976 Truly blind is the key. I consider my palate to be above average and fairly refined and my Somm friends can fool me at the drop of a hat and what's more, they take pleasure in it because they have the same issues everyday.

Opus One is a stunning property and the wine is above reproach no matter how you feel about them stylistically they make fabulous wine. And the property abuts the world renowned To Kalon plots owned by Mondavi holdings Inc.

A high-quality wine from the oldest winery in Australia's most celebrated fine-wine region.
The Coonawarra is famous for it's 'terra rossa' soil and porous Limestone under-layer.
2004 was a particularly good year in the Coonawarra.

Wine critic Jeremy Oliver puts it better than I could:
"An elegant and lightly herbal cool year Coonawarra cabernet whose slightly leafy expression of small black and red berries, mulberries and plums knits effortlessly with fine-grained and loose-knit tannin and smooth, creamy oak. It opens slowly to reveal a violet-like perfume, while its smooth, restrained and supple palate of vibrant fruit overlies a wonderfully tight spine and pleasing cedary undertones.

I actually thought the Ente was a Walter Scott X Novo Chardonnay. The Eyrie was unmistakably New World. My background with white burg isn’t as extensive as several friends who were at the same dinner, but even I couldn’t be fooled by it.......

The celebration I was at was in a restaurant in NJ!

The real celebration is now in Little Italy. I have not been to it in many years.

Cherries, toasty oak and finishes with plums and a hint of spice. With pork knuckles.

It's just all about health, happiness & family. The rest are just necessary inconvenience we have to deal with.
