Looking for colourful chronographs and divers

I have recently seen this Hodinkee episode with Alan Maleh where he shows some of his colourful and unique chronographs and I was immediately hooked.

I also stumbled upon and liked the following:

Problem is that most of these are quite large for my wrist (I am used to 36mm. 42 mm is at the very edge of overhanging). Does anyone have any idea about smaller vintage unique and colourful divers or chronographs?

Zenith has some amazing 38mm pieces with multiple sub-dial colors. And it’s the king of chronograph movements. Chronomaster Original it’s beautiful albeit a little less colorful than those pictures above:

If you are prepared to enter the murky world of vintage watches, Breitling we’re doing some pretty funky designs in the late-60s/early-70s, and some were only 40mm. Here are a few examples I quickly grabbed pictures of from the Internet.

EDIT: Sorry no links allowed for my new noobiness. So I pulled all the pics.

And now for something a little different…

The Heuer Monaco in Gulf livery. Or just go for the original Cal. 11 from ‘69 for a historic piece.

The PF Tonda with a nice subtle pop of orange

The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms chrono flyback - who the heck puts a chrono on a diver!?! Blancpain baby! Love the sunburst on the dial and the blue bezel.

Any number of Chopard’s Mille Miglias. Personally I’d go with a race edition and try to get the original 1988 automatic. Watch out though Chopard did a bunch of quartz for a while. While the auto movement isn’t up to LUC standards the price is adjusted accordingly - plus it’s iconic. The whole collections has tons of colors as well. Here’s the ‘88
