Good possibility

The Submariner by far. I voted for black but would go blue dial based on my collection.

If we say versatile, has to be black. Couldn’t resist hitting gmt choice for just a little extra visual stimulus

I also own the stainless steel version. That gets a nice amount of wrist time also.

My vote went to the blue dial Sub. The dial is just beautiful. You can dress it up or down. Never looks out of place. Also Glidelocks a big plus.

Obviously, either of the black-dialed models is the most versatile.

Are people confusing the word "versatile" with "your favorite", or something?

Exactly

Green GMT is my favourite with the YG, but black dial is clearly more versatile.

Went with the sunburst blue dial.

With the blue you get the burst - with black you don't.

The phrase "...versatile casual yellow gold..." is an oxymoron. There is no such thing as a casual + yellow gold watch.

I have tried on most of the gold pieces and the sub black dial is the one I would go for.

Agreed....the blue dial sub is gorgeous IMO, and the green GMT is stunning as well...but for this thread...black seems to be the model most folks consider “most versatile”.

I’d say a blue dial/bezel professional series Rolex, is casual yellow gold (your 5 digit is a beauty) VS a DD40, which isn’t a true dress watch either.
NOT CASUAL yellow gold, IMO, is a 3 hand, thin, gold, 34-38mm watch, on an alligator/leather strap

Most versatile in terms of casual wear, Sub, hands down. It’s a tank. In terms of all occasion, depends. Yellow gold is pretty bling. I love mine and wear it all the time, but it’s not conservative in the slightest. It’s a magnet for attention.
