And yet another first time Omega owner
I've been collecting Rolex for quite a few years now, both new and vintage, then also bought new Tudor but for some reason Omega never really sang to me.
I started to look for a new Rolex but with the near impossibility of buying a SS Sports watch from a UK AD, I was looking at an AD's near empty Rolex window, when I saw the Omega display next to it. As soon as I saw the Planet Ocean I was blown away. As has been commented on by other first time owners, the box is better than Rolex and the quality and finish of the watch is incredible. It is great to have a watch with a completely different set of styling features, including thick polished bevels on the sides, a ceramic dial, lume in blue and green, a movement that can be seen through the case back and with METAS certification which is +0.5 secs per day. It's now got me looking at older models and a Speedy Reduced may well be next in a few months. It's great to post as a proud owner in The Omega section of the forum |

Congrats. That’s a great watch. I like omega too as well as Rolex. Make a nice change to Rolex and I don’t think the gap in quality is representative of the price difference. Certainly, I find omega to be much better for NATO’s and aftermarket straps. Speedy is definitely a good one to go for next.

Congrats, they do make great watches.
Plus, Omega bracelets are some of the most comfy imo!

Great watch and looks great on you - what size is that? Is it the 43.5mm?

Gorgeous watch! When I bought my SMP 8 years ago, I was close to buy this one.

That’s great. Glad you are enjoying it - it’s a lovely watch. Is it in rotation? Hoe much wrist Time does it get compared to the Rolexes?

^ Great question. I've been wearing it 80% of the time over the past month, with a 5513 the rest of the time. I'm probably going to rotate a Rolex and a Tudor around it, swapping them monthly but keeping the PO. I am so impressed with the quality and so comfortable to wear

That's one fantastic looking watch. Over time, the Planet Ocean has acquired an expanded choice of color schemes, but the one you chose is just classic. Well done, and welcome to the Omega/Rolex Joint Owners Club!!

^ Thank you it's great being an owner of both brands; feel like I've been missing out having not given Omega a proper look in the past.

That looks fantastic; the orange tip on the seconds hand is a nice little touch.
