16710 future love?
Hello Guys. This has popped up nearby. I love the condition. Only thing I noticed is that crown on the bracelet looks polished and watch doesn't. Maybe its the pic. Any red flags that the experts con point out? Many thanks in advance!

A replacement clasp is around $200 if that one bothers you. The insert is aftermarket. If you choose to replace it with a genuine one, "Pepsi" inserts can readily be found in the secondary market and are priced from $250 to $350 - depending on condition.
Nice GMT IIs can be found easily in the secondary market and are priced anywhere from $7500 - $9000 depending on condition and originality. Complete sets are 15% to 20% higher.

I wouldn't ever worry about this considering how much more abuse the clasp takes compared to the rest of the watch.

This is true about clasp. More worried about insert. Even though they are sourceable makes me wonder what else can be wrong. Guy wants U$9000. No papers.

In this country good examples are not abundant. Everything is poorly polished.

You can start with the 8s which are not correct.

It still looks off to me. The 2 in 20 appears to be a different shape than in the 22. The bottom bar for the 22 look longer. 2 in 20 is shorter, unless it's the picture

The 2s look different because it's a seriff insert. The insert is genuine.

Would this be period correct for a tritium dial?

I don't think the insert is actually installed on the bezel. It's just resting on top of it.

Aha. You are very correct. I noticed weird reflections but could not explain why. Thank you for your time!

Sure. Serif inserts can be found from the late-eighties up to the end of production. It's easily "period close enough" in this case. Judging by the fade, it might have been original to the watch and the seller installed a new aftermarket to appeal to clueless buyers.

You'll see them on the tritium sapphire GMT models from around the mid 1990s.
