What would you guys prioritise (currently only own 5167 and 5711 blue)

Grab a 116500 Daytona (I need a Rolex for carefree daily)

or

Upgrade my 5167 to a 5164

I plan on doing both regardless over time but I'm thinking of which strategy is best first

Since I already have a 5167 I'm edging towards the Daytona first before upgrading the 5167 (logic suggests to me - better to have one of each first)

I'd just get whichever emerges first, both brands could be having price rises so just get whatever as soon as pos.

I love both and would also choose the 64 if the delta was reasonable. But is it almost 2x a 67? Yikes. But who cares if $$$ is not a problem. It is the best gmt ever bar none.

All I can say is after about 2 months with the 5164, I definitely wear it a lot more often than I did the 5167 at the expense of my 15202 and Rolexes (maybe 4-5x a week now.) It fits well in any situation, from the pool to the boardroom. The dial is more interesting, and the watch just feels perfectly balanced with the right presence, heft, size and symmetry. I find the 5167 boring in comparison now.

Bought a 5164 since my dealer said 5167 years away, then he calls me and said he has one. So I buy it, have to find a new home for it.

Anyone in the Bay Area want a new 5167a? Would be fair number. Will put on sales section next week.

I don’t get that.

No date. Questionable legibility. Minimally used complication.

Now don’t get me wrong. It’s gorgeous. And super comfortable. And iconic. And I’m a huge fan. But the best daily? I’ll never understand that.

For the OP, I’ll say I like the size of the 64 better. But the clean dial, legibility, and price if the 67 way better.

Love both, but 5164 by a hair on this one.

I wear mine almost every day. It’s just go incredibly comfortable and versatile, with perfect proportions.

Legibility can be an issue, but other that it’s pretty perfect. There isn’t another Rolex I’d rather use as a daily.

the great thing about the 64 is that its popularity has grown over time pretty organically and its much less hype driven. Nothing against the merits of the other sports watches as objectively they are excellent watches too, but the hype element is undoubtedly a factor in their current positions.

IMO that makes the 64 a special watch. Its where it is simply because its a great watch, with much less noise around it.
