That is one helluva sweet watch mate!
I also have a question for you, oh knowledgeable one

With the 111, which serial series started to have painted dials?
I'm just doing some research....and I just love the sandwich dial.... do the new ones come with sandwich or painted?

Thanks Otis.

The sammy dials started in 05 with the H series. Anything in the H or I (06) series will have the sammy dial.

Ahhh excellent, thanks!

There are no AD's in my state (and it's a big state...) but on a recent trip to sydney I had the joy of trying some on. They didn't have a 111 in stock, but i tried on a 113 and an absolutely drop dead gorgeous 177.
Wow, photos don't do these watches justice!
They're big, but somehow intricate and detailed yet beautifully simple all at the same time.

Heck yes!

Also like the look of your PVD! Is it a similar sort of finish to the Ti?

Nah, the PVD is an applied coating over the SS. When you scratch it, there is no polishing it back. It was too hard to maintain so Panerai stopped making them.

The Ti on the other had is easy to make like new and it also oxidizes so the color stays fairly even. And the Ti is lighter than the SS cases, which is not a bad thing at all.

Ti...

PVD...

Ahh OK gotcha.
Still looks damn sweet though. Seems to really suit the watch, makes it pretty 'military' looking IMO.

Hey, I posted last week you would sell the Sinn and get the logo... Do I get a prize?

BTW, in your other post I suggested you sold the 210 for the logo. My bad.

I normally don't like such plain watches, but after looking at it for a while, it kind of grows on you. I still wouldn't want one for myself, but I do like it.

So enjoy it for the little time that you will keep it. I figure it'll be replaced before the end of the year, right?
