Explorer on a black alligator strap?

I’m thinking of a change of strap to my Explorer 214270....anyone got any pics or tried it on an alligator strap, I’m thinking black strap. What do you think before I steam in for one as they are a healthy price.

I tried an embossed alligator pattern leather strap and didn't really like the look. And I've worn a ton of different straps on the Explorer which look great. The other issue is you may need a curved spring bar to pull it off. Mine was scraped by the bezel as the lug holes are a bit too close to the case for some straps. Other straps have given me no issue, however.

I put a black Everest on mine, looks great (pic somewhere but can't find it). Actually the strap is for my GMT but identical fit on Explorer so it's like 2-for-1.

The Explorer looks great on any strap. It just depends on what you like. Just do a Google image search for Explorer leather straps.

While a black would look fine, I actually think a brown would look even better. It adds a little contrast.

On leather and natos, I think it looks good. Putting alligator on an Explorer is like wearing dress shoes with Wranglers, IMO.

Prefer bracelet. But if not, maybe a nato.

I think it looks good on the alligator strap. I prefer it on the bracelet or a NATO though.

The lugs on most Rolex are long due to the shape of the bracelet end links. There are companies that make end links to fill the space if you want a strap option. Everest seems to design curved end options that fill the space as shown above, and they have more options available for the ExplorerI
