Iphone Guru's

Why is it (which seems all of a sudden) when I sign into my iphone it automatically turns on Icloud and starts backing up. I want nothing to do with Icloud and have all settings off. Then I have to stop it and change all the settings to off. Then when I sign out it says all data on iphone will be deleted in 30 days. Apple is the devil...rant off but anyone else have issues. Same thing on my Ipad. Did it several times each time made sure ecerything was off and it turns it back on

why are you signing back into icloud if you want it off? a lot of apples functionality relies on you being signed in, you can sign in but keep sync off unless you want to do it manually

Correct had sync off dont use icloud. Itunes made me sign in to verify payment options. Then the next time I had to verify paypal. For some reason it locks up and I have to sign in. What sucks is, even if you have it off, it defaults to on every time you sign in. Spent the last hour on google and seems to always default on when you resign in.

yeah i imagine it will be hard to keep it off seeing as its required for a good amount of things in ios, i would stay signed in but turn off the syncing for whatever you don't want them to back up

1.Go to Settings tap your name
2.Tap iCloud.
3.Tap to turn iCloud features on or off.

Curious behavior.

If you have a recent backup on your computer via iTunes, you may want to wipe the iPhone and restore it from the backup.

If you hate iCloud, then you can also log into it from your computer and disassociate all devices you have.

On the newly restored phone, go to Settings > Passwords&Accounts > iCloud > then Sign Out.
