All my points have already been mentioned in early posts... price, value vs other equally priced options, etc.

However, I do find this to be on of the most picturesque references ever made. Just an absolute stunner

I get that logic, but the extra 50g in weight that comes with the full bracelet makes it tough for extended wear for me. So there is a gap to be filled for those who want the PM experience without the added weight.

I agree with you guys that thinks its not the best value for the price. Just bought a 116613 LB which to me looks like a lot of beautiful watch but for half the price of these. However when they came out, I was really infatuated with its looks!

Price, OF bracelet, RG. None work in the direction of mass appeal. Rubber bracelets are cheap to add to a Rolex. Make it in stainless and it will sell like hot cakes.

Gorgeous watch but most don't see the value at the retail price

Love this watch so much, of all the oysterflex references, this is my favorite. The matte bezel and dial highlight the gold beautifully.

At that price point, I would consider it, IF the watch was 42mm..

Maybe it's the colour looking kind of coppery. Not to everyone's taste.

Truth. Especially since the YM 42mm white gold version comes with the actual glide lock. I think that’s gotta be a given with the lack of adjustability of the rubber bracelet.

This may sound ridiculous, but one huge turnoff for me with the Yachtmaster is the name. I'm not a boat guy. Planes? Love 'em. Fast cars? Love 'em. Boats? Nope, not so much. And the Yachtmaster just evokes boating in my mind.

I also could not wear a watch called the Helicopter Master. That's the one aircraft I won't get in again. I swear, the moment a helicopter leaves the ground it's trying to kill you. And glib pilots don't help. Imagine you're flying along in a helo and a part comes loose, falls off, and goes careening down the side of the airframe past you.

me: "What the fsck was that??!!"
pilot: "Oh, nothing important. Don't worry about it."
me: "DAFUQ??"

An unsecured cover to an empty avionics bay on the nose shook loose. The pilot laughed and said the only really important part you don't want falling off is the big nut on top holding the rotors on. He called it the Jesus Nut. Fuuuuuuuuck.

The 126655 does come with a glide lock. 116655 did not.

Any reason why this watch isn’t more popular? hardly any incomings.

[QUOTE=77T;10726916]Helicopters don’t fly, they beat the air into submission...
Been to a couple that didn’t land as expected. One also took the head off the Dad of a friend of mine.

I bet you don’t use Wilson’s volleyballs either?

TRF going downhill fast. Ridiculous.

Thanks for clarifying! My wrist swells so that on the fly adjustability is a must. Part of why my Day Dates never stuck around.

Who cares whether it’s popular or not.....you buy what you like, not what other people like;
it’s a luxury toy.
Ps: I’ve just bought the 42mm version, new, so,I’m following my own advice.
Regarding the Oysterflex, where there is a choice between that and a gold bracelet, the difference in price is large. So in what sense can the Oysterflex be poorly priced. For instance, here in the UK, a solid gold Daytona/bracelet is £7500 more than the Oysterflex.

Lovely watch - but doesn’t feel like a £25k watch to me. Don’t think the black matte bezel does it any favourS when compared to the Daytona bezel.

It's beautiful but, for a solid workhorse movement in a gold case on a rubber strap, the price is ludicrous.

this isn't totally true. stainless is only popular in the WIS bubble. "normal" people aka the masses are all over two tone and gold right now, whether plated or real

There was a thread about two weeks ago or so on this very topic. Great watch, perfect summer daily. However at that price, you can easily go all gold (sub, dd, Daytona) for less than 10K more. While that's not pocket change, if you can go 25, you can afford the extra 7K or so.

IMO, rose gold and yellow gold look a little off with Oysterflex, whether on a YM or a Daytona. Rubber strap to me screams summer and casual. YG and RG not so much. And the matte black rubber (?) bezel does not exactly help if you want to dress it up. So it's a watch that only works in limited situations. To me.

Hmmmm,,,, on one hand I agree that a watch on a rubber strap should not be priced over 30k,,,
But the 126655 has a lot of value for its price point (compared to most other luxury watches on “rubber” straps);

It has more gold content( solid case back and substantial deployment clasp with glidelock), it is useful (bi directional rotating bezel),, and .... it hacks !!
All for half the price of other similar Swiss luxury watches .

that comparison isn't really accurate, the price for the 5167r is from the grey market, its retail is like 36k lol

I can't imagine spending that kind of coin for a watch on a rubber band.
