The Daytona feels great on me, so whenever I get a new watch I wear it for a while to get used to it, especially the sea dweller. I play racquet sports and golf and always with one of them on. Rotation is whatever looks good to me for the day. I enjoy them all.
Plan is to pass all of them to my heirs. |

I remember reading your post at the time and thinking that you had little to no chance to accomplish it. More power to you and it just goes to show you what good planning and a little luck will do.
Two years ago this coming September I set out to buy the Daytona C -white. I had no previous Rolex AD relationships, but last month I accomplished it along with a BLNR that I purchased earlier from the same AD. It can be done, but it takes persistence and luck. Mark |

I also blame you all TRF'rs for my subsequent 5 luxury watches. I intended to be a one-watch guy. Now I have 6 have a hard time deciding every morning. Except for Speedy Tuesday. $30,000 you people cost me! With all sincerity, thank you! |

My Rolex plans for 2018
Congrats on acquiring the watches you sought out after. After owning them for awhile I’m curious to know what you think of each one. Which is your favorite/least favorite and why. Thanks.

When i read this thread i was actually not super shocked you were able to do it. My initial thought would be to buy one of the watches on the list from your local ad to start the relationship. Then let them know the list of watches you plan on buying and go from there. By the time you bought 3 within 4-5 months, your probably getting moved very quickly to the top of the list.
If you don’t mind, how exactly did you go about getting some very tough to find watches within that time period? Was it just a good case of right place right now and making enough purchases within a small window? Congrats on a wonderful collection! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nothing wrong with wanting a bucket of Rolex’s. Do you have any intrest in exploring other brands? It’s a BIG world of watches and your specifying Rolex, Modern, Sports models. And all within a short timeframe. And all on oyster bracelets, it’s a lot of the same thing, but your call

[QUOTE=shaunylw;8786165]When i read this thread i was actually not super shocked you were able to do it.
Other than the Daytona the other watches would not have been difficult to get. On a trip down to Fla there was a BLNR on display at an AD. Posted a thread on that and one of the TRF members bought it and had it shipped. Was offered both a Sea Dweller and LV in Naples Fla but held out for my local AD. I became friendly with one salesperson at my local AD and had them introduce me to the store manager and nurtured the relationship. I suspect but am not certain that many of the VIP customers have already received their watches and thus more are becomming available for regular customers. They know I am not a flipper and after purchasing the first three watches they told me the next Daytona they received would be mine. Dial color did not matter to me since I never saw any of them in person. They automatically put me on the list for the BLRO and I told them I am in no hurry for that one. Right now I have everything I need, but who knows! |

Well done! I think most AD's deal with too many time wasters. You SiR demonstrated you weren't messing around and got the results both parties wanted.

Good luck acquiring all of these. It might not be so easy at an AD. I just went to my authorized dealer the other day and they had basically no professional models, and this is a big dealer on Long Island
