If these concerns are truly resonating in your mind when you're thinking about buying a watch, then don't buy it. You may end up feeling uncomfortable and self conscience wearing it. If you can comfortably swing it and your on the fence, then you can always sell it and lose a few bucks but at least you know versus having any regrets not buying it.

There’s people on this forum who saved up for years, who can clearly remember the first time they saw a Rolex, who have a burning passion for these watches. I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way at all. But there is a difference between really wanting something and toying with the idea. When I fell in love with my wife I didn’t sit and make a list of pros and cons. Granted a wife and a watch are COMPLETELY different but my point is when you want something it will not matter what others say.

But I would deeply consider getting the Submariner over the SD43 as that was the one you always wanted.
