Aqua Terra 41.5mm

Looks like I can get this watch at 25% off retail. Thoughts?

There is a slightly newer version without the frame around the date window. I got mine for 26% off 2 years ago. They’re a great watch though.

I actually like the frame around the date window (for whatever reason). Its too good of a deal to pass up. Especially for that quality of a watch.

Online, my local AD was only offering 20% off so I went that route.

It’s seems a great deal, but buy the watch you like and don’t get sucked in by the discount.

Love mine. Caliber 8500 is a real performer. The watch is truly one of the most versatile you can have.

The frame around the date display looks good, but makes reading the date harder. That’s probably why it was taken out of newer versions. The all-satin bracelet is a plus, too.

Enjoying mine as I type from a nice little spot in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario

Can you provide any more info? I'm looking to pick one up as well and my local AD loves to pretend like they can't budge from retail.

That particular watch was produced as part of the first generation run of the Aqua Terra with the 8500 movement. It has two huge benefits over later versions: (1) the frame around the date (which Omega people lovingly call the "date coffin"), and (2) it has a brushed (not polished) center link. I have owned a white version of that same watch, and currently own a 38.5mm in blue. It's becoming more and more difficult to get these first-gen AT watches in pristine condition, so if you get a good deal on that one, don't let it get away.

I may be interested in the Aqua Terra in white and 38.5. Could 81s for life send me a PM with the dealer who gave him that big of a discount? Gray? eBay?
