Need help, trade 2 Rolex for 1 AP ROO

Hey everyone, need some advise, thoughts insights on a possible trade. I have two Rolex watches;

1) 126600 Sea Dweller mint condition bought from a trusted seller.
2) GMT II 16710 BLRO A Series (1999) never polished, I am the original owner box papers in my name, recently serviced by RSC Dallas.
I don’t wear the GMT any more (too small for me, 8” wrist) the wife wears it if we go out but she does it to get use out of it. I’ve always wanted a nice chronograph, I have owned a Daytona SS non ceramic and sold it cause it wore too small, I tried an IWC Pilot chrono 43mm and it wasn’t the one.
Finally after looking at many brands like Tag Heuer, JLC, and Hublot if went to an AP Boutique and tried on the Royal Oak Offshore 44mm Titanium Ceramic and it sang loud and clear. Never really though of selling my GMT (first watch) but I just don’t wear it anymore. I don’t mind selling the Sea Dweller. The AP ticks all the boxes, size, chrono, sporty, dressy and fits my wrist very well. Is it a good deal to sell both and put in remainder for the AP?
Should I try to sell both on my own to get more to fund AP? Takuya had the AP, I contacted him but the watch has sold. Suggestions? Thoughts? Thanks every one.

No way I’d do that trade, I’d much rather have the SD43 and GMT. Admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of AP at the moment though.

Sounds to me like the trade would get you the watch you want vs. 2 you don’t like as much. Sounds good to me

If you are not wearing your Gmt and don’t mind getting rid of the SD43, I’d go for it. I have the Ti44 and really enjoy wearing it. It’s very comfortable and if your wrist can pull it off, which it seems you can, I would highly recommend it! Good luck.

I’ve never been a huge AP fan, but I’d make that trade in a heartbeat if it got me the watch I wanted.

Nope. You can buy AP but no trades :)

I've been thinking the same but it would be a SD43 and a pam 111 towards the same watch.

I’d have a hard time trading two rolexes for that ap. Maybe try a larger rolex like the ym2 or a sky dweller. I’ve got a big wrist too and I wear my blnr daily. But, if that’s what you want, do it and wear the hell out of it. Good luck.

If you don't wear the GMT anymore, no use in holding on to it. I'd definitely go for the AP if it speaks to you...

Thanks for the comments. Say I do it, selling vs trading to a trusted seller what would I need to put in on top? Don't think it would be straight trade.

A definite NO for me. Forget about value and price for a second and let's say all 3 watches were worth the same. I like the styles and look of the SD and the GMT over the AP....hands down! I'm not a fan of AP at all and TBH, I really don't understand the appeal of any of their watch styles.

However, that's just my personal taste and opinion, and that's all it is. AP has got to be doing something right since their watches are high in demand and people are paying a considerable amount for them. I'm on board with what others say and you should do what makes you happy. Good luck on whatever you decide.

You’re going to get a biased opinion on posting here and the AP side of the forums. I say do it if you are not wearing your GMT. Two is not always better than one. If you don’t wear one or the other Rolex the AP is 100% ahead especially if it was always a watch you wanted.

I don't know why having a feeling that AP piece is so boring and busy. Never do that trade, even just consider about it.

If you really like the AP and it fits you better and you're not wearing the GMT and aren't attached to the Sea-Dweller, getting the AP seems like the right choice for you.

The only other watch that fits good and has a nice look is the Tag Heuer Carrera 01 Skeleton dial. Now I can buy that one and keep both my watches.

With your wrist size I'd do it. The GMT would do nothing for you, might as well sell it while the prices are what they are.

You should do what works for you....you said the AP checks all the boxes. But, if the Tag also checks the same boxes and you can keep both watches.....thats a no brainer.

I would suggest that Tag sings to you anywhere near as loud as the AP, go with the Tag. This way you get 3 and less chance you’ll regret it later. Unless that is a very hard to get AP ROO (which i have no idea, not up to speed on AP) you can always go get it later if the itch isn’t fully scratched.

Life is too short to worry about trival matters. Do what makes you happy. Value retention asides I would say the 44mm is a couple of notch above.. Go for what rocks your boat.

Your post is on the Rolex Forum, you’ll get mostly answers from Rolex lovers.
If you post the same in the AP forum you’ll get much more pro AP answers.
Do what you feel is right for you, seek which watch will give you more satisfaction, it is not always about $$$ and value retention.
IMO AP is notches above Rolex, much more exclusive, and this ROO is a pretty damn nice one to have.
Good luck and no regrets whatever the choice you make.
