I’d do it in a heartbeat! The profict you can make and the discount you can get on the wg oysterflex is a smart decision! I love the combo.

No you are not insane, this WG version looks way cooler than any other Daytona IMO, I would probably even choose it over the platinum Daytona

Get 116519LN! It looked so much better than the SS Daytona.
And 116519LN can be equipped with alligator leather straps, which looked really cool with the contrast between the steel-colored dial and the black alligator leather.

The WG Daytona dial looks amazing.

I would never choose rubber over bracelet on a Rolex.

AP, yes
Panerai, yes

But never on a Rolex.

One is much easier to find than the other so if you regretted your decision and wanted to go back to the 500 it would be a financial hit if you go grey and a time suck if you went AD.

I would get the WG and hold onto the 500 and use them in a rotation and then sell the one you don’t like as much. That way you reduce the risk of regret.

I would only consider doing this if it's for the bracelet version, wouldn't trade a full metal watch for one on rubber just because it has some gold.

Why would it be foolish? I would do it. Especially if you got the 116500 at msrp. The dial of the 116509 is to die for.

Leave the question about insanity to your doctor! Regarding watch then i would keep the 116500, however the 116519 is quite a beauty and hence fully understand the idea

The 519 is beautiful and I would do the trade.

It is heavy though even on OF and there is no bracelet option.

I definitely wouldn’t do that. I out my 116500 and a rubber b for a couple of months. Nice but no cigar. The 116500 white dial on bracelet is THE watch!

I’m with you, however with WG bracelet and WG bezel.
It’s mesmerising. Naturally we’ll take a beating on depreciation, but then dats da price one pays.

I would never even think about that but also much prefer the look of the SS versions.

I would love to see 116519LN on a 116509 WG bracelet.......would that bracelet fit the 116519LN?

Just did a search......the 509 bracelet will not fit the 519.......damn you Rolex!! Besides, sourcing a 509 bracelet would be very difficult not to mention the cost....

It's a tough decision and I would be reluctant to let my 500 go, but if I had to choose, the 519 wins.

It’s a great watch. I’m always one to tell others to get the one they want. Life is short.

I'm between the two as well. Tough call but I think the WG is much more attractive.
Has anyone received a discount on this model? Not every dealer I have talked with has one.

Aesthetically I love the WG OF model more than the SS white version. If they gave the bracelet version of that watch a cerachrome bezel (like the OF model) this place would go nuts.

Do it and don't look back. I sold my white dial 116520 and bought the 116515.

Don’t. TRF talked me out of trading my hulk and black d500 for a white gold blue dial Daytona a while back. So glad they did. Keep the D500!!!!!

I doubt he's offering a nice price considering he's upgrading to WG.

I would sell two other of your SS, BLNR and black sub, and get the WG.

I would keep the 500. 519LN will always be easy to get and prices will only go down from here.

Good idea......but then I'd have 2 Daytonas.......a little redundant. I guess having 2 subs wasn't redundant enough.....so I got the Smurf.

If you're sold on the oyster flex bracelet, absolutely. That dial is soooo hot.

If you're getting the OF from a dealer who will properly measure you and fit the bracelet, that would strengthen the case in my mind. If you're going the grey route, make sure you're getting the right size bracelet straps.
