I would think that they would have to order the specific model you will be buying, because if it is "luck of the draw", with so many DJ configurations, you might not ever get the one you want for your wife. That would discourage people from making a deposit to begin with.

I am pretty sure that AD will special order yours, they just don´t want to "sit" on another DJ, so that´s why they are asking for all the cashola upfront. The 20% + NO TAX is the balm that takes the full payment upfront - "sting" away.

What a lovely watch by the way. Share the smiles when it is delivered.

Nice price but get them to commit in writing to 2 or 3 months and then you get the deposit back, that should ensure you get it.

These days it seems discounts are disappearing. Finding 20% and no taxes is the best deal I've heard lately. Putting up the full cost is slightly off-putting, but if that's the cost of getting that deal, I'd go for it.

When is your wife's b-day? I would imagine since you are paying 100% up front it should arrive in a reasonable amount of time. Ask your AD to give you an approximate ETA. Should be a couple of weeks I would think and certainly not more than a month.

I think that's perfectly reasonable what they have asked especially offering 20% off and no taxes.

Somebody mentioned it above, they don't want another DJ sat in their cabinet.

No time line or promises on when it would be coming. But they told me they have to get it from Switzerland.
It's not a hard to find model , I actually found it in two different ADs at full retail.

Do they just wait until rolex sends one? Luck on the draw?
Or is there an order with my name on it put in for me?
Thank you
Your getting the watch you want, andgreat discount. What’s the issue? Your going to have to pay for the watch one way or the other.

I think that seems pretty reasonable, and a nice little discount as well.

But, you started this thread with an angry face icon...

20% off and no tax on your wife's SS DJ is an outstanding deal, especially as your first purchase with this AD. Nothing to be angry about there.

They can special order the watch and should have it in your hands within 4-6 weeks if it's truly coming from Geneva and isn't in stock in NY. In fact, I'm surprised they didn't tell you this already.

True, after reading so many posts and threads saying never pay full price on a deposit because the AD might go belly up I got worried.

You have ~10 months...for that watch, I’d say there’s a better chance of someone offering to buy me a day-date than for your dealer not to receive it by then
