Help me please

I currently own a 16610 which i have owned for 21 years. I am now considering another rolex and cannot decide between the explorer 214270 or the datejust 126300. Any advise much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I kind of like the DJ route - it is complimentary to the Sub.

DJ41 for the reason above. Covers the dressier base while still retaining versatility. Try it on a jubilee.

I agree with the DJ 41 for the reasons above. Good luck.

Both should be easily sourced...try each on and then you will know!

If you have wore your 16610 for over 20 years then get the Explorer 214270. The DJ will just not feel the same ... (yes it's different but with 20+ years of the same watch I don't think you're looking for different)

Thank you for the responses. I’m more of a casual kind of guy. Will the dj be too dressy for jeans and a polo??

DJ is definitely not too dressy for jeans and a polo, looks great in that fashion. I’m a big DJ fan and dress that way the majority of the time. However, unlike the DJ, the 214270 will look slightly more at home with shorts and a t-shirt (although I do that with my DJ at times).

I’ve owned a 214270 in the past and liked it. It wears bigger than the 39mm size suggests, and is extremely comfortable. No experience with the DJ41, all mine are 36mm. You’ve grown accustomed to a black dial, arguably the most versatile color, and a watch of near the same size of your sub yet with no date would compliment it nicely. Just my opinion though.

Damn!!!! Decided on the dj and then after 10 mins, the explorer and now back to the dj.

This is my current rotation. Which one will add to the collection??

Rolex Sub 16610
IWC spitfire Doppel Chrono
Panerai Luminor 177
Tudor Black Bay Bronze
Bell & Ross BR01-97

Neither IMHO
You should get an Explorer II.
Has 24 hr. function and a date, priced about the same as the DJ.

Problem solved.

Buy the watch you like best.

If you cannot decide independently, flip a coin.

Based on what you've got I would look for a 16710.

I prefer the Explorer, but you can't make a bad decision either way between those two.

DJ with blue dial on a jubilee with smooth bezel! The smooth bezel will make the DJ more casual, oyster bracelet will make it even more casual.

You have enough casual watches. Get one that can go casual or SLIGHTLY dressier (jeans and a polo, as you asked, is perfect).

Or.....brighten up your life with a little gold.
